AN ANTHEM TO THE UNDERGROUND POETS
I like to go underground when I catch eyeballs starin’
I like to go underground when you can’t tolerate my ravin’
I like to go underground when you walk away from me
For when I’m underground I’m free
Let me take you down, Let me take you down
deep, deep underground we shall go
Let us in verses of fellow poets drown
come let us allow our words to flow
I like to be underground for I like to lay low
I like to be underground for I recently received a blow
I like to be underground for I’m an agent undercover
For when I’m underground I shall discover
Let me take you down, Let me take you down
deep, deep underground we shall go
Let us in verses of fellow poets drown
come let us allow our words to flow
I like to stay underground for I do not seek the wicked's attention
I like to stay underground for I do not like to suffer detention
I like to stay underground for I do not wish to compete
For when I’m underground I’m complete
Let me take you down, Let me take you down

I like to live underground for I am now writing this piece
I like to live underground for I am a vagabond
