Falling Star

A twinkling diamond
Caught between two cosmic gods
Dawn is nearing, signaling the inevitable
She must go, and hide, until the inky darkness returns.
Until she may rest upon the charcoal canvas of night
But she will not give in.
She wants to be with the forbidden
His glory cracks the sky,
But she does not waver.
She hangs in the middle of her longing moon, and bright new sun
He is burning with red, hot passion,
And the latter, glowing with soft romance
Both perfect
She feels herself pulling,
back to the sheath of darkness
And feels herself pushing,
Away from the one she wants
He knows it can't be
A star, with the maker of day?
No. She is meant to be with the peaceful guide of night
She longs to feel the suns warmth
but needs the moons cool, soft comfort
She cries, bright embers of sapphire sparks
As she's pushed by the sun,
And pulled by the moon
She let's herself go,
And falls
Down
Down
Down
Towards the ground.
Emitting beautiful streams of light,
Leaving the sky empty.
Silence falls, and the melancholy and serenity is gone.
The sun shouts out, spreading orange and pink fire across the sky
The moon mourns, and his alabaster glow begins to fade.
Both accept the fact that their star is gone with another.
No more pushing her, pulling her.
She has fallen
The sun calms,
spreading even light
And the moon relaxes
Slowly easing away.
They both go in hope
That one will find another
For the sun, a soft, delicate cloud
And for the moon, a strong, loving meteor
Stars are too sensitive.
Beautiful, and enveloped in cadence
They need love, both passion and romance
And no sun or moon can treat her as she deserves
She`ll find another fallen star
Because,
Stars always fall,
Down
Down
Down
Down Into love
