back to another beginning
i'm just a boy
not quite a man
who do you that think I am?
souls come with a fee
that they should be free
something I can now see
whispers of a cool wind
blows on my face
chills my skin
don't blink
hear that sound
sun rises
I can see the trees
wonder for a while
darkened skies above
into a black cold forest
just one little touch of green
something I have never seen
I was locked in a stare with a sign
a sign that said
go back to the start
end at the beginning
start over
under the bridge
I was afraid to cross
its now covered in rust
and moss
sticks and stones
powdered bones
aches and pains
losses and gains
hurry up
now stand and wait
ponder these ideas you have
tried to decide
ended in swallowing my pride
took it in stride
then I stumbled and fell
can't feel anything at all
when I stand back up
i'll wipe off all the blood
and clean up from the flood
of pain and tears
but I can't fix
the scares and fears
not quite a man
who do you that think I am?
souls come with a fee
that they should be free
something I can now see
whispers of a cool wind
blows on my face
chills my skin
don't blink
hear that sound
sun rises
I can see the trees
