And she ALWAYS 'gets' me...

I held her
precious face
in my hands
Gently,  I  kiss her forehead,
as bright brown eyes stare back

Giggling am I inside
when I notice a stern look

(yes I’m having a love attack)...

She
embraces me as
she  says I love you,
and I return the sentiment
Then sarcastically I implore furthermore,
“are you sure?”  and up, and down her head went...

Then as we separate
from our embrace and retire
back to our previous tasks

Two steps was all
I’d take, when her voice
spoke up, and she decided to ask

“Dad,  don’t you know?”
as her face emitted that ‘glow...'

she continued on,
“Just because I get angry with you
it don’t mean I don’t love you..."

and at that my heart leapt to the sky!
then I whispered, to the 'big guy'

“Thank you” once again
for sending me
my little heart so true...


~although a few years old, decided
to post this...it's an exchange between my
lil girl n I...moments AFTER I scolded her
for misbehaving because she didnt get her
way about something she wanted lol...
