Baiting The Wind
She came as a cool autumn breeze, blowing about wildly and free.
Her presence touched every inch of me, from my head down to my feet.
She whispered in my ear, faint sounds that I could barely make out.
Other than the words I love you, that, I felt without a doubt.
She easily moved everything around me, from the tallest trees to the smallest blades of grass.
But it all stopped suddenly, so I sit here pondering and I ask,
"Where did my wind go? Why did it have to go by so fast?
I've contemplated plans of capture to perfection, baiting a kite for the next...

It's still early. We could go to see a film. What do you think?'

'And you're sure about that?'

'Okay, but say if you change your mind,' I say. I get into the car. 'We can go anywhere or do anything you like.' I reach over to help fasten his seatbelt, but he tenses, so I back off.
Poor kid. He must be hurting so much. Robert acts as if his mother never existed, refusing to talk about her at all. I don't blame him, really, although the extreme reaction concerns me. Like what do we do about...

and I return back to reading just me,
just me at the tender age of six by
Silverstein as a curious little creature.
How I rolled my eyes getting older
hearing myself getting called
a home wreck or a fuck boy,
I would imagine myself growing
tall, stomping around restaurants

Blessed are the broken hearts
With jagged edges and bloody pieces
Happier are the halves and chips
That grieve a loss too heavy to remain complete
Lucky are painful beating time bombs of mass destruction, that end in tragic wreck
For they will build a mighty fortress
Where love knows where to go, in a castle standing sturdy
A steel-framed wall of regret, memory, and dirty reflection is what protects the mosaic heart so tenderly
