Empty Bed

         bears witness
                    to f i t f u l slumber
When it deigns
                            to come
Curled
                  with a blanket
                              and a Beast
Game of Thrones
                      on a loop
It's too much
                                to confront
The solitude
                  in this room
Far easier
                    to face
Kinked neck
                           and stiff spine
Than mocking bed
                                    of pristine sheets
