Dancing upon the brim of betterment (an ode)

Just rolled out of bed without alarms mind you, ready to begin my love affair for the day with my dark elixir. Sometimes I can think of nothing better than a cup
Of smooth rich silkiness.
I love this.

Good morning, lovely lady.
You and I seem to be cut from the same cloth... silken methinks... *wink

I too, think of coffee first thing, as my eyes are barely open. I usually hear the timer go off on the grinder of my coffeemaker and even though I probably could fall back asleep for a bit, I feel my excitement... tingling... to sip that first fresh ground cup... which far outweighs the extra shuteye... lol... Yeah, it definitely is that magic elixir!  

Thanks for loving my ode, it's one of several that I've dedicated to my deep love affair with coffee.

Many times, especially in this context of writers, we acknowledge body chemistry,  desire, arousal, and romance as a nearly only sensual pleasure. Freud. Maybe.

I think, though, that these small deaths or unutterable utterances are merely signs and symbols of our inner world and the fruits of human consciousness raising.

This is where fact and fiction, or perhaps reality and fantasy interface.

At some point, the collision of truth and consciousness.

So, being able to talk about it in all terms is critical.

CNC on the psychic scale....permission....submission....the only way it works..  and waiting while living your life.

Only you would've keyed in to that line of 'disarm me', which is one of the zillion reasons why I always hope you are out there reading, so I can drink up of all your valuable and insightfully profound comments.

That's a beautifully poetic way of seeing someone and encouraging them all in the same breath.

My vulnerability is the moonlight which highlights my pathways forward... Peer through my window as the soft ambient glow flickers, haloing in full surround the beauty of admission and shared truth... Holy, is this sacrament of connection.

I too, love tea! Green tea is my go to iced favorite. I'm ALWAYS drinking water, and mostly, it's just that, only water. Coffee, for me is an intimate and viscerally connected experience. It's an addiction, I know. Yet, I do a good job of controlling my caffeine intake and alls well, there! Morning coffee is a ritual of meaning as well as this deep ingrained delicious addiction... lol..

I would love to have a hot cuppa tea with milk, sweet, like me... lol..For me tea is a special occasion morning treat but I love tea, as well. Many various teas, in fact!

Although the bean is not my tonic heaven help anyone who gets in the way of my tea leaves first thing in the morning! 😠
There is nothing more civilized than that first quiet cup to get things in order and just breathe in the aroma. I loved this poem because it set such a superb scene and tone for _______ centering of self. I wrote something else before centering but auto correct wrote some gibberish and I’m damned if I can remember the word 😏
Anyway, as per, love the write! 😊
Now I need a cuppa. Gotta go…

Loved that despite personal preferences, we both know the deep value of starting the day off from a place of warm, quiet, soul infusing sustenance. I couldn't agree more, that setting that stage of self centering, makes a huge impact on the way any given day plays out. For me, morning coffee is a ritualized connection and a meaningful sacrament...One steeped in sentimental memory as much as it is my well realized ridiculous addiction to caffeine. It's admitting you have a problem, that's the first step.... hahaha.. I control that craving and allow it to only guide my mornings... for the most part!!

A doctor recently told me that coffee drinkers live about 25% longer.
I haven’t read the source research yet but it’s believable to me.
If that’s dose related or cumulative I’ll be drinking my first cuppa on a morning in 2121.

What I always enjoy in your style is that you deliver each line like a cliffhanger, hearts palpitating as the words feel delectably torturous.
