The High Priestess, Mourgana (a tribute)
Watchtower, daughter of aster and loam
Through doors of inner heavens,
feathered sails
Drift on tide, luminesce
In quiet vision,
Through doors of night black
And foetal fecund earth
Cored sun, of aethered web
And starlight spun
Thread,
Into passages and portals,
Glyphed upon each fingerprint
Into this seers landscape
Gaea, leaf headed spear
Drawn back to crook
Of elbow, aligned in
Constellation of the doe,
This stringed tenor of
Soul, taut
As the voice of the winged
Bow,
Sister of lights
And horizons
Kaleidoscopic cartography,
Soft dunes of
Water,
A mane of sand swept tide
Rune forest,
Petrified bone, aqueous leaf
Emblazoned upon palm,
Lineage of womb and woven
Yggdrasil, in this matron's
Carefully exhaled
Augurs, planar flames casting
Shadows,
Of melting tallow rivers
Here, in such voice as planet's
Gravity, in throat, in palm
Of lotus,
Gazing from the helm of awe
Helios, mother
Presaging sage sheaves with four points
Of Vegvisir, into the distant vision
Manifest in thought, in waking dream,
The nine pointed triangle,
Between gift of kindness
Of awareness,
Between pestle and mortar,
Poem and passage,
Geode and geometries,
Passages and portals
Wide arc, arm of the watchtower
Swings its guiding font of light
Through doors of inner heavens,
feathered sails
Drift on tide, luminesce
In quiet vision,
Through doors of night black
And foetal fecund earth
Cored sun, of aethered web
And starlight spun
Thread,
Into passages and portals,

Unsurprisingly I found it epic Daniel,
Love your mythos dripping, god laden, legend invoking , look deeper for the meaning style...
You are unique and brilliant,

This is very much in Rianne's style of writing, abstract and subtly soulful, pointing to the intimate presence of the universe. I hope she likes it.
Thank you my friend. I really appreciate what you bring to the site.

Holy fuck!
Right from the beginning, you evoke dark worship, a need and a trust for something half wild and mostly myth
"Through doors of inner heavens, feathered sails
Drift on tide, luminesce
In quiet vision,
Through doors of night black
And foetal fecund earth"
It reads like a sailor looking at the night sky, at first, and then exits to terrestrial being
And, by the by, that turning of phrase in your opening is a fucking chef's kiss.
You segue into life connection and the web of life force. Again, beautiful evocations.
THEN, your next two stanzas connect to the earth and sky foreshadowing in the opener. We get feral and green and dirty, and we light into the sky with a power and reverent awe. Holy fuck, those connect well. The groundwork make the execution, it really did.
And the sort of long fall to the end.
I like the fact you used a light, and a pestle and mortar in the final images. It lines perfectly with the dichotomized worship, and shows what the goddess has to offer -- light, and obliteration.
Great shit, my friend.

I really appreciate the insight into the unfolding here, it's wonderful to have you express such understanding of an abstract piece and take the time to make that connection. I know Rianne will appreciate it too. I wrote this in her idiom. She has such awareness, ability to feel into the intention of the writing.

Oh, I missed that. Dang. I was literally so focused on the content, I missed the subject.
You kicked ass with this tribute!

Wonderful, wonderful and wonderful, Morgana the great healer could not be more happy (as couldn't any other Priestesses). Heil Sir Daniel!

This is a beautiful tribute to Rianne. It’s been a while since I’ve seen a poem from you so it’s nice to see you back in your element. When I read this, I hear your passionate voice. I always enjoy your spoken word.

Par Excellence!
An amazing tribute to an amazing poetess.
I'm left speechless. When you texted me the other day about this poem, i really didn't know what to expect but this blows me away. You are on a league all on your own Daniel with your poetry and language and i hope you get the stardom you much deserve.

Re. The High Priestess, Mourgana (a tribute)
Your vocabulary has always impressed but couple that with your amazing intuitive ability to capture the essence of your dear friend's soulfulness and innate personal style , and well, that's truly astounding! This is an immensely heartwarming experience to read and to take in, Daniel. You really aimed for the fences with this one and left me so warmed and full of gratefulness to have had the terrific opportunities of basking in the small interactions I have had with you both. You're each so wonderfully special in these beautifully artistic and poetic ways and this poem is such an apropos depiction of just that.
What. a. pleasure. ✨
Thank you.

Aw thank you so much Susan, I felt that Rianne was more than deserving and I've known her such a long time now, I wanted to write something in her idiom to show appreciation.

It's a great mix of the ethereal, mystic and futuristic kaleidoscope like images that traverse her range of poetry.
Wonderful tribute Daniel.
