Summer/Autumn

Summer slipped out
   sometime after midnight;

Left the door
   open wide…

I couldn’t convince her to stay

No matter how I tried.

Autumn arrived in elegance,

With her own
   offerings of intimacy;

But my skin still tingles
   from Summer’s bite,

And all the pleasures
   she gave to me.

Author's Note
I may have posted this on HP, but I went back to see if I did, and I didn’t find it. Nonetheless, these are my words.

It’s meant to be both seasonal and sensuous, particularly for those familiar with loss.

Forgive the lack of true erotica, I’ll certainly spill out plenty more words in that arena. But this I have long labored over, and am content with it. If I have previously posted this here, please let me know so I can edit/delete as needed. Thank you for reading.
