Summer Poems
#summer
Summer poems about the warmest season of the year, June to August in the northern hemisphere and December to February in the southern hemisphere. Summer brings the longest days, where things heat up with summer fun, and nature is in full bloom.
We Are Waiting For You By The Pool
Cassidy just got
to Joanna's loft apartment
and found a note that
says "We are waiting for you
by the pool. Please come join us."
But just as she was
about to take off her own
jumpsuit and reveal
her pink bikini, she heard
someone behind her say "hi".
That made Cassidy
turn around and see her best
friend's brother Kevin
coming towards her and say
"Welcome to our pool party."
"One guess. Your sister
is playing matchmaker one
more time. Right?" was what
Cassidy asked Kevin whose ...

Dear Summer,
how quickly you ran ahead of me
long legs so beautifully kissed by the sun racing through fields of flowers
warm grass in all shades of emerald
cool rocky rivers
beckoning bare feet to wade
glowing in the hot sun
her dress drenched
in summers perfume
door ajar
autumn came almost overnight
blowing cold breezes
through the eves
whistling around corners
encouraging the need
for soft warm comfort
fire is sparked
in a glowing chimney
black charred with age ...

Possibly Love At First Sight
When she saw Mitch walk
towards the pool, Susan smiles
and says "hi" to him.

One Helluva Birthday Surprise
She
just woke
up and found
herself naked
on the beach and the
guy she met at the rave
gone which made her walk back to
the beach house in time to hear some
friends say "Surprise! Happy Birthday!" just
before they got one good look at their friend.

Poetry, Nature, and Beauty
In the vast lands where the spirit finds freedom
Where the mind can, its deep caves, fathom
Down by the tall rocks that go up into heavens
Flowers in row, with dewy beads, are woven
Here the spirit can stream like deep river
And the heart can throb better than ever
The eye can fill its orb with life's beauties
And the ear to hear the elements' ditties
Nature's music chimes with forms that vary
And shades of paints fit the smell that carry
Shapes round or long, tall and some...

And shades of paints fit the smell that carry

green
I'm hurting in the green of you
tears sting my face
an upturned daisy seeking the sun
clouds shadow from your gaze
my petals turn inward from the cold
I seek comfort where I can
to die at winter's hands
cruel fate
my soul glazed over at the chill
the winds bellow
I saw you on the horizon
I turned away
I followed the sun, instead
where green is still beautiful
tears sting my face
an upturned daisy seeking the sun
clouds shadow from your gaze
my petals turn inward from the cold
I seek comfort where I can
to die at winter's hands
cruel fate
my soul glazed over at the chill

Poetic Inspiration By Nature's Side
Poetic inspiration by nature's side
When beauty is there
Theres' no stain in the air
The pure Nature laid bare
Open up your heart,and stare
Wisdom from the suns glare
Ethics from the wild that scare
Born with a hunting flair
Prey and hunter, nature is fair
Weakness when the mind dont dare
To take arms, for life to spare
There is an eternity where
The mind and heart both care
In the mountains a man is born
From the dusty womb was torn
His magic words make a storm
When heaven speaks with his tongue...
When beauty is there
Theres' no stain in the air
The pure Nature laid bare
Open up your heart,and stare
Wisdom from the suns glare
Ethics from the wild that scare

As I Listen to the Music of My Youth, Beside the Backyard Pond
Again I watch dismayed
As the snow melts below my striken feet.
Wavering cloud draped upon wavering pond
All the sun long.
The tingling insects creep,
Raspy muskrat plays and wallows.
Dry straw floor shivering,
Wooden fingers of the brown trees,
Shiver on the pond surface.
Again the atomic summer,
Again the rotting flush.
How do I conduct myself again,
Stiff or shrunken?
Eyed tingled, bone cracked,
Muscle cramped, skin ripped,
Blotted, dryness, wetness,
Fibrous sinewed,
Chaotic...

While We Were Moving Into Our New House
It was while we were moving into
our new house that I took a peek
at a neighbor's house and saw her
in a white tank top looking at
her watch before she took another
step towards our door in order to
knock on it hard enough so
that one would open it and speak
to her about anything there is to do.
She also told us that there's a pool
she uses during the summer to keep cool
and invited all of us to use it, too.

The Last Violin of Summer
Air that, all summer, was almost empty
Suffocating in a house of words,
Here were the sounds of grass blades
Each fearless flunge foiled by something simple
……as rain……from chloroform clouds……
Washed in sleep at the morning’s edge,
Dreams dredged August desengano
Through a midnight mariachi,
Blent blue melody into muffled trumpet.
Taratantara, see how many share our beds.
Tora! Tora! Tora! No ship is safe in the harbour,
Pearly teardrops blitz the scorched pillow edges.
Taratantara, mourning’s native son will...

goodbye to the blues
your warm
voice,
fragrant
and mild,
i'm feeling
every heartbeat,
your kisses
burn
our sheltered
pleasures,
now,
clinging together
and gazing
over
hours spent,
our
songs vanish
into
thin air,
chasing
parched wings,
with
a splendid guise
and
a quiet
ending,
i'm bracing
my thoughts
of losing you.
