Oneironauts v Demons

Oh darkness within me, make my nightmares teem
And grant me tonight, the last rite, of a lucid dream
Mayhap I'll eventually lose my mind, to win this war
For there're demons to fight and a succubus whore

Let me follow the subliminal way, as oneironauts do
And hide in the shadows, to find the monstrous few
I would purge my tormentors, if I could covertly lurk
Inside my mind I'd still-hunt, then bewreke, berserk

Grant me lucidity, in nightmares, or grant me death
For I need to find my demons, in my darkest depth
Don't let me unsleep, through another night in vain
For if they subjugate me cerebrally, I will go insane

I'm sliding down now, to where the nefarious creep
Into a kaleidoscopic vortex, of a monstrosity's keep
It's here, the oneironauts gather, to fight their battle
Where all the demons dwell and the succubi cackle

I'm out of my mind, or maybe, I'm alone in my head
As I conjure the demons, of my own sanity's thread
But to my clever subterfuge, they're seemingly wise
For they stand before me, with their vermilion eyes

I'm fighting back, but they have their hideous needs
For though, I'm gouging at eyes, it's me that bleeds
And the succubus laughs at me, the witless cursed
And squeezes my testicles, 'til they bloat and burst

I retch, from the nightmare, with agonised profanity
I found them first and lucid, but I'm losing my sanity
And now they're crawling inside, like maggots in rot
And shrieking, like banshees, whilst tying their knot

Oh darkness within me, you know that I cannot cope
For even in lucid dreams, there's a hangman's rope
Oneironauts v Demons, is not ever, a winnable war
With meddling mind games, of the succubus whore
