the difficulties of death throes

This morning
I screamed
while stumbling awake
howling each step
of routine

screeches rang,
continuously
between each
and every coffee drip
an otherworldly timbre
echoing  —out

isolating yowls
bubbling amidst
hot shower steam
reverberating
the small space
where sins
are washed clean

shrieks boom
exploding
the soft morning
thundering loud
filling my ears

resoundingly
dialing in
my
frequency

blasting
belting

and

drowning
.
.
.

all
of
it

out.
