Our existence is one ongoing metamorphosis when all things are taken in consideration , Blue. Sadness, loss, joy, gain, anger, serenity, all part of the equation of our life. We escape nothing if we live.
Excellent poem, my dear.

Hey there, bk
I deeply appreciate how you put it all into perspective for me. It is all inescapable and yes, we're an amalgamation of all of our experiences, sure... Ones we hopefully learn lessons from... ones we're probably destined to repeat with varying degrees of success and failure. It's the true authentic, gross, inexplicable experiences that I'll never be able to wrap my mind around.... but I am beyond thankful that you've helped me get a bit closer, today.
A huge dose of gratitude your way, dear kitty ✨
You're one of the (best) reasons that I continue on with this DUP journey....
Much love and an amazingly festive Season's Greetings to you and yours. - ❄️🛷🕯️💞

Dear BV,
This poem made my breath catch in a gulp. It leant itself beautifully to my melancholy demeanor as of of late (I’m kidding no one, I’m always melancholy). It’s a thoughtful and sadly beautiful write. H🌷

Dearest Honoria -
That 'hitch' or catch is something I still feel myself from time to time, so I definitely understand. Ohhh the melancholy... I too, feel it's grip.... It usual surfaces in the application of extra extra black eyeliner... *wink
Thank you for sharing your thoughts with me on this one... Your words are like a much needed hug, shielding me from my painful reality.
All my sincerest warmth, love and respect 🙏🏻

Thanks for reading, Tim.
I've written on this subject before but you might of been gone at that time... I suspect... It's definitely difficult and something that I don't usually mention or write about. This piece just kind of spilled out of me...So I honored that, as best as I could.... I hope I did it justice.
Your comments are so moving, I'm truly truly grateful... - 🙏🏻

Hi, k :)
It's so very lovely to see you 🦋
Ohhh my... Thank you.
I'm very humbled and appreciative of your extremely kind words. This piece comes from a place where that pain is reality and at times, feels like an albatross hanging... one where the passage of years (sadly) allows you to get used to its pull.
I am so grateful that you've taken the time to leave me your thoughts, dear lady. It means a lot...
My heart is full, knowing you also could feel the love that I hoped to convey, too ...
Warm regards and seasonal wishes, sent your way,

Weird you mention that myth, I often do think of a vengeful God.... It's astounding how a mind tries to justify/understand such a painful loss
Thank you for sharing your thoughts, RT.

Likewise, I wonder if the gods of today will follow their counterparts into myth and legend. On Christmas eve it is said the angels foretold of peace on earth, the end of our revengeful God, replaced with unconditional love. After 2000 years, God seems still at peace, and it is humankind that supplies the vengeance, in His name of course. So many interpretations, there are over 30,000 denominations of Christianity. None of them presents that peacefulness proclaimed so long ago. Nietzsche said that our idea of God had to die in order for us to experience that truth. I wonder.....

well it makes one wonder if God is dead and we creatures of such hateful habit, just continue on with the business hours total destruction in his name (of course) .... all because it's a learned and deeply ingrained behavior.... Willingly welcoming the blindness of truth, to remain so very 'righteous'....
(You take my mind on terrific excursions)
.....
Just thoughts that popped into my head...

References to text should point towards its consistency with itself. I so often hear those you speak of using as their pretext for such actions the Old Testament. And yet the treat it with as much verisimilitude as the new. Paul, in Romans, says we must die to the law in order to embrace grace. He makes the case in Romans 5 that we can see God's wisdom in that these are points of consciousness in the mind of God, that as many as were condemned are now freed in Christ, all. In Romans 1, he makes the case that our thinking we can use our own behavior under the law while being judgemental of others is an act of reprobation. We cannot subvert unconditionality; it is the very definition of irrationality. The Inquisition, the Crusades, the fire and brimstone messages are what Paul calls perversions of the mind of Christ, in Galations. There is no excuse for it. Humans are just messy and self-destruction in their egos. Still, unconditional love takes them in too. Stillness. Contemplation. And campfires on winter nights.

Re: Re. The depth of metamorphosis
Ohh my, Jay (well, well, nice name!) *wink ...
You really have me at a loss for words. It's genuine remarks like yours, that spur sincere validation and wipe away any cobwebs of fear and doubt that I sometimes let fester when writing about a topic that I usually play close to my vest.... So I'll say simply, Thank you, kind sir.
Btw, can I please just DEEPLY convey how much I love, cherish and adore your return?!?... I hope you 100% know that and feel that myself and DUP are all only better for having you here.... The followers and readership will come, (if you're questing that) I wholly believe and feel that good writing is always recognized here, in the end.
Just wanted to reiterate!
All my warmest regards, my lovely friend 🙏🏻

Where to start with this,
You cracked open your chest and poured out your heart,
Never fully healed but also never to forget.
Can't imagine.
Brave and heartfelt

Dammit the heart-drop at the ending... such a beautiful read, even with the bittersweet ending. Reminds me of a thought I had long ago; when someone in a relationship dies, the relationship doesn't right away, if at all. It just gets heavier, because we carry their half now as well.
I love this poem. Thanks for putting it out there for us.

Hi Blue
Sorry for coming late to this.
What a wonderful but sad poem.
The poem with that image, the picture, the words, the feeling behind this, so sad.
I do hope this is not about you but I feel I am so wrong.
It's a beautiful poem, I'm m lost for words

Yes, it's as you feared.
As bad as you're imagining, the reality is probably worse.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and for the amazingly supportive affection. It means a lot. It's for a competition, otherwise I don't think I would have broached the topic...
You're a bright light and generous soul - thank you.
