A poem about a poem hehe 😁 I always love when I read a poem that hits me. I often get jealous of poets that can make me feel a strong emotion. It's like "why didn't I write that?" lol

I totally relate.... although my jealousy might be more akin to a humble yearning of resignation or wishing (maybe) .. hahaha .... being so hard on myself, my jealous nature is next to nil..... Letting go is one of the hardest things to do, whether regret or other deep and useless emotions (guilt is another big one) it is the best thing we can do for our present moment. It does not mean forgetting, it does not mean ignoring, it means consciously choosing to move forward without the weight that have held us down. You have done a great job in expressing this here, and inspiring me too.

One of the best things about DU is the talent that you randomly come across, that continually motivates and inspires. It's a marvelous opportunity /feeling and one that I truly cherish to be able to have access to.

You're so correct- in putting those emotions that usually bite and gnaw, nonstop; in their proper places. To stop dragging them around and to take the experience as a lesson and moving on, sans so much baggage.... It's a huge sigh of relief to finally come to terms with..... For sure!

I am all smiles that I could pass along inspiration, that's what it's all about, in my opinion!!

It's true, regret is absolutely senseless... yet it's so hard to lay it down sometimes. Nice write, and bravo on giving the nod back to your inspiration too.

I felt that difficulty of not letting it go, for years and years, too, k.... I think you get to a point where all the lessons of specific long standing regret are learned and you consciously decide (or your mind kinda sling shots your understanding) ... to a decision of "No more!" to constant 'self injury' ... in a manner of speaking. I previously only continued to repeatedly hurt myself with the pain and the pressing weight of it... I understand now that is (and was) nothing but 100% wasted time. Putting regret (or any untoward pressing pain, like guilt) in it's proper and purposeful place, learning and hopefully growing from the experience of it..... becomes the only way that I now can stay within a healthier and much lighter and even mental keel....
It's like stepping on the scale to see you've lost 10 lbs!! ... hahaha.... freeing and joyful....

I appreciate your thoughtful comments so very much... You always leave me swimming in smiles and with some truly terrific thought provoking. :)

Not sure why these lines hit hard, perhaps because in the past I delved in it and carried guilt without nothing productive out of it.

It's a wonderful write Blue, aspiring and enlightening.

I think trying to carry that guilt comes from a place of goodness, within. In the end, it's a lesson hard taught by time.... Not easily learned, at all— that, that particular guilt IS solely non-productive and only hurts ourselves. Finding ways to reconcile it and leave it where it needs to be left and buried, is difficult but (in my experience) the only way to REALLY move forward.... Until then, it's like an albatross around your neck....
