Broken

Dear E,

You’re off to a great start if this is your first short poem. I would agree with your insight on this subject. For me, Knowing and learning how to repair yourself after being smashed to pieces makes feeling better all the sweeter. This is a lovely write.

Thank you! Not my first, but I've written fewer than 10. It's 3.30 am but I'm still awake and suddenly had the thought! I managed to fall apart at a relatively young age, and have put myself back together multiple times. Whatever doesn't kill you, etc.

'Forms' regardless, I agree with the message which will resonate with those who have rebuilt their lives after traumatic pasts, whatever it is that has helped them be whole again..

Gosh, this reminds me of a piece of advice that changed my life from an Old Chinese mentor:

If you guard your heart like it's a precious vase, then you'll always fear it being broken. But, if you allow it to fall and break, then you can sweep up the pieces and never have to worry about it breaking again.
