Upon reflection
Sadly, it occurs to me
I am no one’s muse.

It didn’t hurt a bit.
A shot that made people nice.
The prick that cured mean.

What’s this all about?
I don’t know, can’t you tell me?
Oh god, we’re both lost.

Will see life as I see it.

There. You’re forgiven.
What crap will you conjure next?
Drink, lie, repeat, cry.

The difference is
You desire to be on
Everyone’s radar.

Singular notice.

Thinking otherwise.

This is really stellar work, H. I loved every single piece of this. So raw, so open and honest. This is hands down, one of your best. (F) hits home a little. Ok, a lot. It can be placed in so many situations with so many different people. Just really really good stuff here. So well done.

I’ve been writing these for a while. There’s another bunch of them in the wings. This lot seemingly needed birthing at this time. Mmmm, F got tossed in after a “discussion” that left me feeling dismissed and extremely irritated but closed mouth and shut down. I can haggle a sale price like a champ but express my frustrations, it’s like I have no verbal skills🤬. Thank you sharing the one that spoke loudest. H🌷

For me it's senryu (I) ... s o m e wishes coming to fruition soon disappoint, then become a burden, and then a curse. Fortunately not all. But there's universal truth in there.

Dear J,
The last time I got what I wished for I nearly gauged my eyes out just so I could entertain myself from the boredom. I constantly wonder why that happens? Why can’t we get what want and not have consequences? Thank you very much for your lovely comments and share. I really appreciate them. H🌷

Re: Re. Senryu Menu

Your question: "Why can’t we get what want and not have consequences?" -- (I'm assuming you mean '... and not have negative-experience consequences') is truly a crux question, an existential question facing the human race. Why do we cultivate circumstances that bring a subjective experience of disappointment? I have no simple answer.
One line of thought is to live life on our own terms, no matter what the external circumstances (as suggested in Viktor Frankl's classic book "Man's Search for Meaning"). Another is that all negative experiences, if fully understood (the Buddhist way) relieve the suffering and bring with them a hidden gift.
I guess if life is seen as a heroic journey where we each have to find our unique path in our own way, then it brings a sense of fulfillment whatever the external constellation of our lives looks like, (I'm just rambling).

No, I don’t think you’re rambling at all. You put into perspective why there must/should be a negative/positive action reaction theory. Without negative we might not appreciate the positive to its fullest. It makes sense. I just want to be a petulant child about it. I am glad we took this thought and conversation to the next level of the bigger picture. It helps to keep things grounded. Thank you!
Re: Re. Senryu Menu

The physicist David Bohm proved that when things in science are taken to their fullest extent, they flip into their opposites. This suggests a dualist mindset (dividing up the way we see the world into good/evil, negative/positive, male/female, etc) is probably not 'scientific'. Rather like yin & yang - they are two aspects of 'the same thing' -- and yet without the tension between two ends of a spectrum, nothing creative and new could emerge.
Taking it a little further, means & ends are also 'one thing' -- and therefore statements like "The ends justifies the means" are (to my mind) incoherent. The energy with which any 'means' are carried out, will undoubtedly inhabit the 'ends'. As Gandhi said: a violent war begets a violent peace.

Dear J,
This is wildly interesting. I’ve never been introduced to David Bohm and would never have thought this theory to such an extent. Thank you because now I will look into this a bit further. As for the ends justifying the means, I’ve never understood that expression and consequently never use it. Made my head spin. But, what really sparks my interest is if Gandhi said “ a violent war begets a violent peace.” where do we go from here?
Thank you so much for this wonderful info!

Bohm was a protegé of Einstein, and a friend of Krishnamurti - so a cross-over between science and mysticism (actually like all great scientists, and original thinkers). There's quite a lot on youtube.

Bravissima, Dear Honoria❣❣ Would that (B) were possible. We get a double whammy injection COVID-19 vaccination and kindness stimulator 😉 (D) is poignant. (E) is such a touching plea to not be judged by the superficial. (F) if you never tell they'll never know. (H1) OUCH! (H) is a message that so many need to write on their souls. I identify with (I) as one with an arse replete with teeth-marks, and not received in any sort of intimate, kinky/sexy ritual 😀

Your writing is magnificent and each one deserves it's own comment, however if I were to choose one I think it would be C, the underlying question of What is this all about? is something that always persists and only seems elude more with time. When we find someone, who seems to provide at least a partial answer only to find out that actually we are both lost. Still, it is very difficult to pick just one... Next for me would be E then H, but it is really hard to pick. ❤️

C, E -
C - Sometimes things get lost in translation and people will miss the point. Perhaps some folks have a deeper connection with others so as to really understand one another which leads me to
E - Too many times will people just skim through the surface without really diving further. Behind these words is another being conveying their ideas and expressions.
I've had to read pieces several times in order to savor the words and understand their meaning. You've constructed something here that really is an awakening.
Bravo.
