Love, Amputated
You touched my wounds
and my skin healed over you
Now, surgically removed,
you itch like a phantom limb
I have to learn to ignore
and my skin healed over you
Now, surgically removed,
you itch like a phantom limb
I have to learn to ignore

Thanks! It felt like a jackpot when that idea came to me... that sense of a person hanging around when you know they're not. Glad you enjoyed. 😊

Dear B,
Absolutely perfect description of how this feels when the person you loved actually loved you back at one time. And even more so the phantom pain of having loved someone who never loved you back. I wish you the very best in the comp. This is a fantastic write. H🌷

I think loved ones often stick around in our thoughts when they've left - whether by choice or death or whatever. It can be a good thing.... or an annoyance, depending on the situation!

Thank you! Conveying a lot in a limited number of words is a really fun challenge.
