Things I Hate_001 (NaPo #17/30)
I'll never be an empty nester,
I've decided already, when I meet him or her
Or they or xi or it or faer,
I promise that though I'll love and miss any children I may have
(If nothing stops me from the children I want to have),
And they'll be my whole world,
I'll still have my personality to show the world.
I'll have a weekly date night with my future partner
(If I ever decide I want a partner),
And I'll have a weekly or biweekly day to see my friends (even if it's just for a few hours),
I won't lose sight of who I am, not even for a few hours,
I want to be able to teach my future children how to be themselves despite society's crushing cookie cutter mentality,
But also how to come together with like-minded ideas, intents, and mentality,
And I don't want to end up someone who'll bore my partner and mess up their mentality
To where they choose to cheat, to find someone with a mentality
Like when we first met.
I'm sorry to those whom I may have upset,
But I'll never be an empty nester,
Wishing my grown-up children would become babies again, just to surrender
Their freedom, and the lives that they've crafted for themselves....
...Just so I won't be sad,
That's f**king mad!
I dislike those people who have no personality, other than their children's school and personal life,
Their kid's scoccer, tennis, softball, or volleyball, being a housewife,
Football, rhinestone studded sunglasses,
Flip-flops, stringy blond hair with dark low-lights, acts as though they're going through a mid-life crisis,
Church, "Live, Love, Laugh", and few and far between, tasteless and extremely mild, wine and sexist jokes about their husbands.
There's nothing wrong with housewifes,
Or stay-at-home fathers or husbands,
It's only when you loose sight of who you are too,
And unintentionally teach your children, through everything that you do,
That once you marry and have children, you can no longer have a personality
And have to like and dislike whatever your spouse and children do, just to make only them happy.
