Image for the poem if it feels good

if it feels good

I sit here sipping hot blueberry tea
sunlight streaming through the blinds
and jambalaya simmering on the stove
I'm stuck in the sixties,
the love generation, my generation
when if it felt good we did it
the bloody truth of it was
we never wondered if it was right
all that seemed to matter was the thrill
is it possible we got it wrong
I say we should've asked instead
does it feel right
and if it does do it
embrace it with your loving touch
