intimate honest discussion
can often serve to soften the impact of blows
where hard heads create concussions
through clashing ideologies and approach to artistry
existing paradoxical to love's language
flowing through veins and arteries
pumped feverishly from heart valves of truth
bringing two mule-stubborn halves into
a whole union
....
thus is the communion of the
human experience
an ongoing experiment of sorts
a meshing of this here..un-fleshing of that there
'tis the matrimony of
of sanctimony and acrimony
expressed from a lifetime of self-righteousness
trying to re-imagine harmony through a
very delicate balancing act
where old dogs clumsily seek to learn
new tricks
...
burying bones of the past
while inner-standing that words can
hurt a helluva lot more than
the sticks and stones
thrown by grown folks seasoned with spite
like it's a rite of passage
...
what a conundrum it can be
humbling oneself
while remaining true to oneself
mumbling epithets under breaths...biting tongues
stumbling in a brand new world
where someone else requires consideration
outside the fringes of the
emotional narcissist
....
daunting becomes the realization
teetering on the brink
of a sink or swim spectrum
it can end in the glorious story of twin flames
or the obituary of two petty arsonists
it can be a building of a magnificent fireplace
or the slow..slow burning of a bridge
cuz matchstick souls
were always bound for human combustion
in some way shape or form
within the prism of this pressurized
time/space continuum
called reality
....
