Angel

an angel disguised as a devil
that's how you described me
I turn that over in my mind
let it sink in and touch my soul

I want to lick your intellect
wait, is that the devil or me?
the demon for so long protected me
he stepped up and spoke for me

I whisper it's okay
she means me no harm
take a step back and let me handle this
these mixed feeling wash over me
feelings of desire for who a woman?
yes, I have them...

it's the ladies who touch me skin deep
but you see I have issue with this
I'm not pretty enough for a woman
no, not anymore...
I was once but that was a long time ago

when my beauty fade it was fast
a cactus flower bloom and in a night's time gone
I have to remind myself when I think to flirt
you're not beautiful anymore...
they won't see you in that light

so step back...
get in control of your feelings
hug yourself, tight woman, it will be alright
lady love maybe once when I was young
sadly for me, I hadn't yet reconciled these emotions

you said I was an angel disguised as a devil
you are the type of woman who moves me
I am a devil who learned to be an angel

I earned my wings...
when I fell from great heights
to crash into the Earth to find I'm mortal

just a woman who desires a lady
a wish and there it ends
a dream dying a lonely death inside
