hallelujah

the red of you
dazzled my eyes
so I plucked them out
in the darkness, I grew

morbid thoughts of hallelujahs
at midnight
saw me shaken

I ate the bitter pill of sin
my flesh it ruled
so I put on a new skin
it fits tight
I feel strangled

I rebel against the notion
of crows mocking me
inside my plight

in hell, I found myself free
with knowledge I navigate
stepstones of glass
see through pits of danger

I hopscotch out
leading the way
for desperate prisoners
