Girl in the Schoolyard
Girl stares into a puddle
Her feelings in a muddle
She sees sky in gathered rain
Rain squeezed out of heaven's stain
Grey stains in skyline
Like a grimy pant hem line
Damp and dark from running
Everyone knows she's feeling fine
She fooled them with her cunning
Out in the schoolyard
She fell hard
Managing distraction
Like a dandelion
Looking upward
For sun that will shine
