A Mind Off-Grid, Nr.05 - Annual Awards
“L a d i e s a n d g e n t l e m e n
it is my great pleasure to announce the winner
of this year’s annual award
for industry’s most industrious industry
… yes … for the 50th time in a row …
… The War Industry
which in 2016 generated, globally
over $2trillion-dollars’ …
yes you heard that correctly, $2trillion,
that’s $2,000 billion-dollars
worth of business in a gruelling market
and succeeded against all odds
whilst not flinching from the onerous task of
killing thousands of soldiers, tens of thousands of innocent
civilians, and helping millions of refugees move house …
oh, and yes, also killing a few people believed to be enemies
of the state - plus in addition, amazingly,
the occasional poet, dreamer, free-thinker, peace-activist
and person living off-grid …
Way beyond the call of duty
this marvellous achievement includes
the traumatising of another whole generation of youngsters
who are now prepped and pumped
to be part of the controlled opposition,
beautiful cannon-fodder enemies in the future …
As ever, the always ingenious war industry with its masterful strategies
to create continuously new streams of income
and provide jobs
has also made a new breed of millionaire politicians
and swallowed in 2016, without complaint, a black-budget
in excess of one $trillion dollars.
Never before in the history of human progress
has one single industry achieved so much.
And yet, incredibly, it still has its detractors -
sad, misguided, and ill-informed people
who refuse to recognise the massive contribution
of The War Industry in changing the course of human history
for the better, giving jobs to designers, engineers,
computer programmers, PR agencies, marketing whizz-kids,
secretaries and makers of in-house gymnasiums -
all the while whilst paying
above average wages and achieving astonishing
price-leverage with governments.
“Make war, not peace” is a strap-line
that has stood the test of time, and
The War Industry with great fortitude
is, commendably, and with great patience still waiting
for the anti-war laggards to catch up
with the modern business environment.
This year’s prize includes exemption
from all accusations of aiding and abetting murder
a whole new bevy of legal loop-holes
generously provided by governments
thereby avoiding time-and-money-wasting
indictments of criminality …
plus direct access behind closed doors
to the judicial process, generously enabled
by national security agencies
and to top it all, the prize of prizes
… recently passed in the U.K … The Investigatory Powers Act …
allowing activity deemed illegal here to be contracted out
thereby also streamlining the ability to criminalise
those who counter the War Industry’s heroic efforts
to make the world a better place.
So, put your hands together and please give
a huge round of applause
to 2016’s most exemplary global industry …
The War Industry!
