A Mind Off-Grid, Nr.06 - Paradigm Lost
Cornered by consistency
stretched by elasticity
battered by plasticity
levelled by ethnicity
charged by electricity
covered by duplicity
bored out by felicity
lost out by complicity.

Hi Paul, I can always rely on you to see things differently, and with with quick originality. Great observation, thank you.

Hello Soulwanderer, thank you for dropping by and commenting; and introducing me to Covenhoven. The RL much appreciated too. I think you're right, our collective 'lostness' is a common experience which can bring us together.

I think being lost is something that historically society has taught us to feel in order to sell us religion and a need for god / gods, but that's just my cynical view :-)
I found this thought provoking and an encouragement to write :-)

Hi David, thanks for commenting and being encouraged.
It's not a cynical view; the only reason the few rule the many millennia after millennia is precisely because the few orchestrate the "the narrative" of our history, (controlling language, (e.g.: PC); they control which philosophers we quote (always Aristotle & Plato (there were others with quite differing views); and they neutralise initiatives to make the world a better place (e.g.: abolishing slavery which was soon replaced by a new form of slavery e.g.: wage-slavery to a money-system of debt). What's changed? Only the form; never the essence.
So, the 'story' of how we came to be, what the balls-up was, and what we then "need" in order to put things right again (religion, austerity measures, wars, invasive technologies, etc) is a key means of control by the few, of the many - not at all cynical.
Keep thinking for yourself (I can see that you do) and resist being dumbed down! :)

You made the call of things which touch us in ways
we surely do not want to be touched. But we accept
these changes in our personalities because we have
the need to "keep up with the Jones'."

Thank you for commenting Purpleheart I guess complexity is what happens in life but maybe I should add a 9th line at the bottom "settled in simplicity" ?
