Michele... Five Years On
Michele, my friend, the best I had,
She made me happy when I felt sad.
When I would cry, she made me laugh,
When I felt lost she chose my path.
So many good times we shared back then,
Like Barcelona, when you were the hen.
The Norfolk Broads spent on that boat,
The times we feared it mightn't float!
Then finally in November, after all that talk,
The ultimate dream - we went to New York!
We spent our time shopping, seeing the sights,
Then Hurricane Sandy gave us a fright!
Memories so precious and...
She made me happy when I felt sad.

When I felt lost she chose my path.

Loneliness
Loneliness cuts through you like Ice,
Deeper than the coldest knife.
Standing by the frosted window,
Watching him go -
She cannot control the sobbing;
Despondent tears staining her face.
Years of happiness all over in a second,
It felt like the grim reaper had ripped her heart out.
As the light fades, so does any hope,
Left alone to cope.
Why, how, what,
What did she do or not do,
Will she ever know?
Darkness closes in around her as she sits,
Rocking in the corner, thinking...

Weight
From the day you are born you gain weight;
Some more than others of course.
Mine seems to have never stopped!
From one diet to the next,
Calorie counting, shakes and bars...
Desperate to escape my excess -
Sadly lacking some success.
Is it time to give diets the chop?
Well, YES -
They don't bloody work!!

Oh, if I were a Poet...
How great would that be?
Like all the rest
With their B and MA's
In varying degrees
But I am afraid
Not a girl like me
Plain and simple that she be
I want to prove to the world

Little Guest House By The Sea
I dreamt of a guest house by the sea,
It would have been nice, you and me -
There I was, daydreaming away,
Imagining just the life I sought.
Of endless holidays, lost in thought,
Working together with my special man,
Instead of my dreams goin' down the pan!
Where oh where would it have been,
Leigh-On-Sea, somewhere like that?
A place where you could lay your hat.
Anyways...
It was nice reminiscing about my dream,
That sadly wasn't meant...
It would have been nice, you and me -

Imagining just the life I sought.

Working together with my special man,

Mean & Moody (Poem Man) Part 2
Our second date was ace
Wimbledon was just a place
The drive home was not so great
But Mick got us home safe
We had Chinese and wine
And that was all fine
He shared my bed
What can I say
All I wanted was to play
Eventually we fell asleep
Not before we had a reprieve
In the morning we played again
Which was divine; he was mine!
I thought everything was ok
Until that decent downstairs
Then the air changed
I could feel the coldness
My heart sunk when you said those words ...

Afternoon Victories
It may be raining outside, droplets forming, dripping down,
But they can't compete with the sweet scent of victory.
Even the wetness on my window can't keep up,
Especially with my lover, burying his head inside;
Nuzzling, licking, touching; enticing me -
To the rhythm of the rain.
Sensuality heightens as I soak up the vibe...
The rain falls harder as does my lover.
With the anticipation of what is coming,
My legs open wider.
I can feel his wet...
But they can't compete with the sweet scent of victory.
