Elegy at an abandoned farm house
Whoever you were or how you lived
is hidden away in another's remembrance
like a dilapidated cabin in the woods
the empty chair on its abandoned porch

wow, something short enough
for even my attention span.. :)
the image you write of makes
the picture superfluous
(although it IS a nice picture...)

What a beautiful photo,a perfect example of remembrance.
This reminds me of the ancient Greek belief that
immortality lay in the continued remembrance of the dead by the living.
Such an inspiring poem...

This ode brings about a sigh
and feelings of nostalgia.
The picture reminds me of
the old sleepy towns that I
passed through in Georgia
with Family as a child.
When driving through You
could almost hear the stories/
memories hollering-out at
You.
Very nice... Thomas

abandonment: every occurrence leaves poetry in it's wake;
written or not...
written or not...
