Image for the poem paul

paul's mountain

past a caterpillar tree line
yet before a monument
a landmark rests in between
under the sun’s descent

listless clouds hang about
‘cept for that patch of sun
I thought I heard it whisper
your name as we drove on

times I fail to understand
come creeping later in Life
meaning left so far behind
reveals itself in Time

so here’s your mountain, Paul
your own little patch of sun
though the world be darkly ridden
amid deceptive lies just know

“Three things can't long be hidden:
the sun, the moon, and the truth.”
