A Moment in Time
kisses exchanged glitter of tears
hugs and whispered goodbyes
looking through the glass
on wet tarmac
the roar of a silver bird
shooting to the sky
beyond the grey clouds
winging through the dark night
landing on foriegn land
thoughts of meetings
with loved ones
and others in between
a burst of fire
a cry to Allah
spilled blood screams to God
for mercy and retribution
sacrificed to the holies
or were they.

Hi Poet, thank you for reading. Scary isn't it...one moment one is at the airport looking forward to meeting friends and the next...it's the end.

Befitting reflection on such tragedies.
We depart in a bubble of hopeful dreams
and are met with political the agendas
of others' hate.
Thank you for sharing, Grace.

Or were they indeed! Truly sad the state of this world we live with all
the maniacs seemingly multiplying by the minute...

That's a good question at the end. Dying a "martyr's death" probably doesn't assure a place in paradise. Could be a ticket to another destination entirely. Disturbing (quite rightly so) and very well written. Fine job Grace.

True...are they even sure? Of the rewards. Or are they all little ants running around in circles...:) thanks for reading Crowfly.

Spot on Grace, spot on. So sad what happened in Istanbul, and what is happening far too often all around the world. Thank you for sharing.

If this was the end you would have no meaning. If flesh and blood were the sum of it, what a hopeless existence we would be... Ego, vain ambition, silly pride and so the innocent die. You did not create yourself, you cannot uncreate yourself.
