Misfortune

Her blood sings to me
And I can't help but harmonize
Arriving at her side as she sleeps
She is bathed in moonlight
It's rays caressing her as I long to do
Hair flowing over the pillow
Lips curled in a secret smile
Breasts gently rising, slowly falling
Neck smooth, long, supple
Bending to apply my lips, my teeth
Rapture promised in the kiss
Delivered by the vein pulsing under pale skin
Bending to receive
But rage! Fury! Despair!
A small, precision shine
The gleam of silver necklace, delicate cross
Driving me back defeated
Staring down at her with all my love, longing, desire
As she wakens, smiles gently and whispers
"Better luck next time..."
