The War Within Ourselves
Maybe it's not war
that's gonna get us by
or the promises we make and break
in the blink of an eye.
Maybe it's not the war
that we've chosen to fight for,
but the war within our heart,
the war keeping us alive.
Maybe it's the demons
Within our heart that we need
To fight,
The demons we've misimplied.
Or else how will we ever
Learn that we're doing no good
Sacrificing our men
To let fight and die.
We are all one at fault,
For the damage we've done
To others, but most importantly us,
Whom we let our thoughts pass by.
Maybe it's not really
The war we're going at,
Maybe it's the war within ourselves
That we need to fight.
