the more things change the more they stay the same
she sat on the edge of the bed
pulling at her nightgown
ignoring the paramedics
checking her over
stared at me
weak
frail
disheveled
looked right through me
maybe seeing something else
because she definitely was unable
to see
me
some things never change
pulling at her nightgown
ignoring the paramedics
checking her over
stared at me
weak
frail
disheveled
looked right through me
maybe seeing something else
because she definitely was unable
to see

I Just Gotta Talk About This
I’m angry with Mother Nature
I thought I could deal
Cope
Get on with things
But, God damn
I need some fucking sleep
Hot, cold, hot, cold
Sweaty, clammy skin
Shower then change the sheets
Fan on, always
More than one WITH the air conditioner
I’m aware of everything
I turned over sixty-five times last night
Counted three hundred sheep more than once
I know, I know
That which doesn’t kill you makes you stronger
I’m so fucking strong right now…
I thought I could deal
Cope
Get on with things
But, God damn
I need some fucking sleep
Hot, cold, hot, cold
Sweaty, clammy skin
Shower then change the sheets
Fan on, always
More than one WITH the air conditioner
I’m aware of everything
I turned over sixty-five times last night

That which doesn’t kill you makes you stronger

Hiding Teardrops
Raindrops dangle from the gnarled tree's ripe berries.
Like suspended sparkling tears that revolt the fall.
As we falsely be merry.
Inevitably the teardrop will fall to ground.
Why did it cling so hard.
Below eyes of iris shards.
You might get an- oh be strong.
How dare you to peddle advice
Without ever standing in my shoe.
Tears hid inside veins, as words form lies.
A mother somewhere echoed- hide your teardrops.
Conceal your pain.
When someone asks how you are,
do they really care to know?
Pleasantries do not...

She Taught Me to be Me
Widowed at forty-five she moved to Phoenix
Packed up her clothes and just left
She refused to be called grandmother
She refused to be labeled as elderly
She had a lot of life left to live
Basically, she had a score to settle and she wasn’t letting anyone tell her who she was supposed to be
Irish with fire red hair
She embodied spiciness and fun
She attended my uncle’s wedding incognito
It was Halloween and she was Cat Woman
My grandmother was svelte and stacked
She loved to party and she loved to...

words..
When
my
time was
surrounded
by dark clouds,
they tortured
the paper,
now
my
words
got each
other's warmth
in the
beneath
of
sun-
shine
n they
sparkled on
paper
in
the
form
of
emotions...

Falling
Cherry colored leaves have a magic relationship with autumn air.
They fall with a graceful nonchalance, not a single care.
They are meant to fall, they knew it all along.
No need to despair.
They cascade to a lonely unheard song.
In my heart there is a dusty tomb.
For the dead blooms.
For all the disillusioned pieces I hoard of you.
Gathered around bleeding crimsin soul shaped leaves.
A hint of beauty to ease the grief.
They fall with a graceful nonchalance, not a single care.
They are meant to fall, they knew it all along.
No need to despair.

Autumn of Defeat
How peculiar the dawn, blemished with its preternatural blue,
Of a parallel world, a cause and effect, for everything we do.
How many here's until we get to there's?
Or these days just to anywhere.
The big tree, was afflicted with a melancholic wavering,
That summer was just a flamboyant fling.
The leaves will bleed colors of fire.
Before the tree chooses to retire.
But first a chaos of soul tantalizing color competes.
The summer green of yesterday becomes a decaying obsolete.
The belief that the good lasts forever.

Erotic Insane - Remembering Eternity
He never just touched her.
He possessed the coveted cradling embrace.
Cupped her face, to kiss her with a delicate, but
dangerous hunger.
Her heart stricken with an ancient thunder.
A relishing patience.
While languid encapsulated thoughts of him
leak a sensuous silk potion.
Abysmally deep in her veins.
Being with him is erotic insane.
She had no memory of a time before his name.
He drove into her with promise of a million tomorrow's.
Ejecting ecstacy's seeds into her infinite sorrows.
She was left, sweetly and thoroughly...

Broken images
Shattered pieces of the mirror on the ground
every piece forms a sound
of what I always wanted to be yet not
Screams of my past caused said destruction
loud from afar, then soft whispers so near
that only I only can hear
I catch a faint glance of myself
in the messy shards
these are images Id love to discard
Trying to put these scattered pieces back together
my fingers and soul blood-stained forever
I need to heal in order to see myself again...

Off She Goes.
He yelled.
Her soul left her body and was swimming
in cool water, possibly a lake. Who knows.
He stopped yelling.
Her soul came back, relaxed.
He asked if she had heard a word he said.
She answered with a "huh?"
Again he yelled...

The Color of The Leaves
August has grown old.
Stretches it's elderly bones.
A haunted violin moans,
from somewhere in the unknown.
A melody with a solemn vow to steal my soul.
Until I properly atone.
Quiet raining of autumn leaves.
Cascading tumble, unabashed,
the raw beauty of death's grand finale.
Trees begged hot sun to lay on shady ground.
My thoughts also fall from brittle nerves.
Only the weary would know that quivering quiet that drowns.
Nature stains sorrow with deep vigor of color upon the trees.
The deeper my nostalgic ache, for all...
Stretches it's elderly bones.
A haunted violin moans,
from somewhere in the unknown.
A melody with a solemn vow to steal my soul.
Until I properly atone.
Quiet raining of autumn leaves.

Milk Delivery
There used to be simpler times
When money was tight
But we knew what end was up
Milk was delivered to the side door
Quart sized bottles still cold
Sitting in a plastic crate
I didn’t drink milk then
Mostly because I was told that I had to
Even then I rebelled
Even then my fire red hair spoke of my determination
When the milk was no longer delivered
I was sent to the corner store
Now that was something I could do
Get dolled up to walk the six blocks for milk and cigarettes
I never left the house...
When money was tight
But we knew what end was up
Milk was delivered to the side door
Quart sized bottles still cold
Sitting in a plastic crate
I didn’t drink milk then
Mostly because I was told that I had to
Even then I rebelled
Even then my fire red hair spoke of my determination
When the milk was no longer delivered
I was sent to the corner store
Now that was something I could do
Get dolled up to walk the six blocks for milk and cigarettes
I never left the house...
