I always had a very warm spot for ‘answer songs’.
The song Oh Neil, an answer to Oh Carol (Neil Sedaka) landed Carole King a record deal.
And to this day she is one of my favourite song writers.
Of the many records I have, made by Sugar Pie DeSant, a more than average percentage are in fact answer songs.
