Distant Travels
As my mind reflects
voices from within
tell me to soul search
a personal energy
that resonates
changing my perspective
as multiple beings
alert me that my time will expire

It Appears In The Pattern Of Fibonacci, Isosceles triangles and tangents
when winter comes baring its cold teeth
I seek warmth
the hazy sky reflects grey depths
that sit just behind my eyes
it seems to trigger a migration
I started
with mathematics that has
rational answers
but I think Dostoyevsky said it best
when he said man was not a piano key
I try to find stars behind the clouds
galaxies and imagination
we all have to believe
with faith
because if you can’t believe
how can you realise your dreams
know what’s tangible
I get lost in my...

These Underground poets...
These Underground poets...
they seem to cultivate crops
of ideas on schedule
from long rows of words
as though the seeds
were germinated, sprouted
and picked all in one day.
From fields of paper
their products are
ready to be marked, then weighed,
then measured
until the crop is quickly prepared
for production, shipped out,
and ready to be consumed
by the reader.
Soon, the rotation starts again.
There must be something in
the water out here.

A mile wide and an inch deep
A kaleidoscope refracting upon the panonrama
Causing immediate catastrophic deterioration
Of the optic sensory while creating rays of gamma
Intensifying and stupefying to a climax
Leading to temporary discomfort and irritation
Culminating with involuntary squinting attacks
What the fuck are you taking about?
The sun was in my eyes.

Poetic Injustice
People tell me i am romantic
Sometimes, i even look pathetic
They just see Jekyll's grace
But, i Hyde the real face
The victims know my serial tactic

A Voice Like Volcano
There once was a woman from Khartoum
Who wanted to sing like Oum Kaltoum
she first tried soprano
it was like volcano
that Oum KAlktoum woke up from her tomb

Happy Holidays
Happy Christmas
Happy New Year
Happy Rosh Hashanah
Happy Eid
Happy Diwali

Happy Vesak
Happy Thanksgiving
They’re everything but
unfortunately we made them not.
We claim the truth when
happiness is a gift, a heavens send.
We’ve forsaken the right
to be when all we talk about is “fight”.
They all should be happy days
yet we cling to arrogant foolish ways.
We’ve ruined all those days

where do I go?
i've come to the end
verses that once bridged the void
no longer take me to the flowery fields
& sunlit forests of meditation
my words now a winding stairway deep inside
where poetry is an opera of screams
that echos off the steel wall of my mental trap
I seek visions to free me
& one by one they die within
stillborn thoughts
I wonder do these ideas get reincarnated
in the minds of others
I push myself to press on ...

Fanciful Someday
I remember
Back when your aching heart
Broke my heart with that good-bye
You sought to reassure me:
“Someday you will be loved”
Well,
I tried…
Searched far & wide…
Yet still I cannot find
Any hopeful trace
of that Someday embrace…
Will YOU
Be my
Someday?
(I never stopped loving you)

Eating ravioli from a family-size tin can. Too much
life and reality in one fuckin' day. Root canal and a
sandwich at Subway. Lack of sleep and debauchery's
cliche, choking on an arsonist-filtered cigarette. My
Parakeet suffering from a compulsive disorder. A
pothole swallowed my SUV. Wondering which can
of Chef Boyardee I will eat tomorrow. Too much
reality in one fuckin' day. Whatever happened
to Captain Kangaroo?

don’t ignore the river, mate
on his phone he describes to her
what he’s seeing.
“I’m on a hill overlooking the river ..”
let me stop you there,
she says
to overlook the river’s a mistake
what he’s seeing.

Columbia Tech Center
Viewed from one parking lot to another
and straight out through my windshield,
north to south, increasingly distant,
are the lot curb, swale strip, then the shrubs
in their perfectly bark dusted row
all along the immaculate sidewalk
before the arboreal street light strip
betwixt said sidewalk and the bike lane
next the west bound lanes of ceaseless traffic
split by median concrete in east bound lanes
and then their own bike lane, streetlight,
and immaculate sidewalk stratum...
