I’ve had this for several hours today. Nice little throw back to the old days there.

You'd think the fact that this specific problem has persisted since last September when I started this thread would at least generate some acknowledgement or explanation.
In "the old days" her ladyship would have been on it like a dose of salts up a rabid dog's asshole.

In all honesty, I of course hope the webchick is ok out there, but can we also take a second for “on it like a dose of salts up a rabid dog’s arsehole” because tea came out my fkn nose 🤣

Me, I just got the whole "Deep Underground Poetry took too long to load the page" thing when adding a theme to my second writing submission today. Been a while since that little issue reared its' head, so I was rather shocked to see it making a comeback. Like I usually do when that happens, I turned on my VPN and picked a server and I was able to get my writings put up themes and all, no problem. It's an odd little recurring issue though that crops up from time to time. Thank goodness I at least discovered a workaround for it! *Smiles* :)

My own VPN and a motley assortment of different browsers made no difference for me, Kara,
but I'm happy your solution worked for you.
The glitch seems to be as random as the guts of a disembowelled shark.

I haven't been able to recreate this error, what web browsers are people having this issue using?

Apple iPhone Safari and Firefox for me.

I use Microsoft Edge, and it's done it to me a few times before, since about the beginning of this thread. It did it to me today. Just for the record, I'm another person this is affecting.

My preferred browser is Firefox, but the same error can happen in Chrome, Opera, Brave and Tor --always when submitting a new poem-- and then as others have described, it can be difficult to access the site again, sometimes for several hours.

Like Kara, I changed my browser and VPN which stopped the issue altogether. Prior, connection problems were happening almost daily.
I went from using Google Chrome on my mobile phone to Opera and VPN pro.

Does this only happen when you have used the theme explorer i.e. Help Me Find Themes button?
Anonymous
Happens for me anytime unpredictably. I can't even remember the last time i went near the help me find a theme button.

Also while we are here, since this started, it won't let me type apostrophes in Groups without it changing to question marks. This is only the case when using my phone to DU. It doesn't do it when using my laptop.
