Let's have an actual "discussion" about Covid-19. This means READING and discussing. Not just throwing down links.

I have been encouraged by many ( moderator included ) to restart this discussion with the following guidelines:
No conspiracy theories
No trolling
No fear mongering
No bloodshed
No bullshit
No personal attacks
Free speech rights, medical issues and whatever else, aren’t free passes to act like a jerk and assume you’re untouchable. Bottom line ( for this thread ) is that people are dying out there, and there is no consideration for them—only conspiracies and fear-mongering.

Official Counts Understate the U.S. Coronavirus Death Toll

More than 9,400 people with the coronavirus have been reported to have died in this country as of this weekend, but hospital officials, doctors, public health experts and medical examiners say that official counts have failed to capture the true number of Americans dying in this pandemic. The undercount is a result of inconsistent protocols, limited resources and a patchwork of decision making from one state or county to the next.
A coroner in Indiana wanted to know if the coronavirus had killed a man in early March, but said that her health department denied a test. Paramedics in New York City say that many patients who died at home were never tested for the coronavirus, even if they showed telltale signs of infection.
In Virginia, a funeral director prepared the remains of three people after health workers cautioned her that they each had tested positive for the coronavirus. But only one of the three had the virus noted on the death certificate.
And of course, the number of official Covid 19 linked deaths at home at any current moment is always going to be days to weeks behind as the reports trickle in and stats are updated.

I've listened to every single one of them ( including the most recent ), and I have not heard them say that. What I have heard them discuss is that Covid-19 is producing a "pneumonia-like" condition that may be misdiagnosed by healthcare professionals; thus, is being mistreated. On the contrary, ventilators could be counterproductive as a treatment.
The latest broadcast was fascinating in regards to a Dr. Cameron Kyle Sidell's observation that it ( symptoms ) mimics more like altitude sickness rather than pneumonia.

I attribute their reference to numbers in regards to misdiagnosis' of pneumonia, not covid-19. This virus is killing people; however, perhaps not in the way we think.

COVID-19 should be reported on the death certificate for all decedents where the disease caused or is
assumed to have caused or contributed to death. Certifiers should include as much detail as possible based
on their knowledge of the case, medical records, laboratory testing, etc. If the decedent had other chronic
conditions such as COPD or asthma that may have also contributed.
