< about those bats >
yes
i admit it
they're my fault
a gene must have slipped out
somewhere between insect resistant corn
and all those handy vegetables i designed
(the ones that peeled and sliced themselves)
and this gene
(an honest mistake, really)
somehow created millions of twenty-ton moths
that pretty much put an end to
night-time football
street lights
and firework shows
so...
it only seemed logical
to make thousand-ton moth-eating bats
with the IQ of Einstein

Our Future
If I could look to the future,
I know what I want to see:
You and I standing there,
That it is meant to be.
The soft touch of you fingers,
As they slowly intertwine,
Our hands clasped together,
Yours within mine.
Our hands holding each other,
As we walk in the park.
I draw closer to you
As it gets dark.
Your arm goes over my shoulder,
I claim your jacket too.
Anything that I have,
Will all be given to you.
The feelings I get,
As I gaze into your eyes,
The blue reflections I see,
Have me mesmerized.
The emotions I feel,
When I think of your love;
It is like pure relief,
As to Noah, the dove.
You have called forth,
Beckoned my soul from beyond.
It's return is hastened,
It yearns for this new bond.
You are infinite fodder,
For my starving heart,
Which thought it would die,
From it's last part.
A part in which I was rejected,
Cast off and called no more.
Your love has reawakened,
Those things I'd felt before.
Your smile tells me,
The blackness will subside.
You offer a chance at life.
Can I walk in stride?
Will I allow myself,
To risk it all again,
In the name of your love,
Can I ask myself to open?
Can I subject myself,
To a game more of chance?
Or will I let is slip away,
And not make a pounce?
I don't know what I'd want,
I don't know where I'd be,
If I ever thought at all,
That you didn't love me.
That is something I never questioned,
At least, not until now.
But I must find an answer,
I must learn how.
How much do I love thee?
That is what I must know.
And when I have answered that,
Will we be able to grow?
I pray that I ask not in vain,
That I can act fast,
And seize the chance,
To make my life at last.
To sow the seeds of love,
Between you and I.
And watch through the years
As we grow together and die.
I know you will take
Guardianship of my spirit.
You've helped me so much,
But I've been to blind to see it.
Will my sight be restored in time,
Soon enough to enjoy what you can give?
Or must I submit myself again,
To the resignation that it hurts to live.
If I could only look to the future,
And know what to do or say.
Then I can enjoy that walk with you,
On that very special day.
That walk in the park,
Each others hand we are holding.
And so much more than that,
Before, after, and during.
Until that day may come,
I will spend each night,
Asking for guidance in what to say,
Doing what I hope is right.
So that we may be together,
If that is how it is meant to be.
And our love will last forever,
Until the end of eternity.

My Favorite Things For Seniors (Sorry Josh. I knoow you were expecting something elsee . Ahaa)
Maalox & nose drops
& needles for knitting
Walkers & handrails
and new dental fittin's,
Bundles of magazines
tied up with string,
These are a few of my favorite things.
Cadillacs, cataracts,
hearing aids, glasses,
Polident, Fixodent,
false teeth in glasses,
Pacemakers, golf carts
& porches with swings,
These are a few of my favorite things.
When the pipes leak,
When the bones creak,
When the knees go bad,
Then I remember my favorite things
And then I don't feel so bad.
Hot tea and crumpets,
and corn pads for bunions,
No spicy hot food nor
food cook'd with onions,
Bathrobes & heat pads,
hot meals they bring,
These are a few of my favorite things.
Back pains, confused brains,
and no fear of sinnin',
Thin bones and fractures
and hair that is thinnin'.
And we won't mention
our short shrunken frames
When we remember our favorite things.
When the joints ache,
When the hips break,
When the eyes grow dim,
Then I remember the great life I've had,
And then I don't feel so bad.
THEN I REMEMBER
THE GREAT LIFE
I'VE HAD
AND THEN I DON'T FEEL
SOOOO BAAAAD !!!!
It's gonna happen oneee day (:

I know the future hard
No one said it would be easy
I know I can make it through
As long as I have you with me
No one said it would be easy
I know I can make it through
As long as I have you with me

Past, Present, Future
Giving you all of myself,
To you and not anyone else.
Everyday, not just now and then,
To be able to call you more than a friend.
Friendship goes in and out.
To make it stay, to be more than a doubt.
A wish well wanted, to become real,
To see through the mist that's never still.
Hearts that don't stop loving,
Even when one dies.
Eyes that are truthful, that tell no lies.
Lips that share the love so sweet,
Bodies that feel the intense heat.
Sunny days spent together,
Memories that will hopefully last forever.
Winters spent keeping each other warm.
Holding each other through the storm.
Emotions so strong they must be shared,
So someone else does not stand bare.
Giving without taking back.
Never giving into the slack.
Here at the chapel we stand,
To be called wife and man.
To be one forever and always.
Walking down the corridors and hallways.
Life will give plenty of times,
When the corridor splits in two.
We'll go together in the dark,
But if we stay together,
We'll make it through.
Making it through, day by day,
This is what I had to say.
Learn and also be the teacher,
Of what was, is, and could be,
The Past, Present, Future
Giving you all of myself,
To you and not anyone else.
Everyday, not just now and then,
To be able to call you more than a friend.

(My sarcastic response to what the future holds for us)
I can tell you how it's all going to end
And it won't be like Armageddon
Sure we'll go up in fire and smoke
And on out very beliefs we'll choke
There'll be no Asteroid
No music played by Pink Floyd
There'll be no demons screaming
Though that's what the doomsayers are dreaming
There'll be no famine, the dead can't eat
And no, there will be no ghosts or zombies to defeat
We won't die of happiness and love
There won't be a just God looking down from above
It will be silent, but not before the grand finale
Guaranteed, you won't be escaping on your Harley
The ice age, well that won’t come to pass
Those that think so should get off the grass
And global warming, that’s just nature
It doesn’t portend the rapture
We think were so awesome, that we’re so cool
If you think we’ll get out alive you’re a fool
We fight and debate how we're going to go
Will it be quick or will it be slow?
I can tell you now, it will linger
And no government will lift a finger
They'll try and save themselves, innocents be damned
Everything they stood for was one big scam
When we go up, they’ll be the ones to blame
When fighting over whose God is better, dying this way is a shame
We’ll all bomb the fuck out of each other
Damn our sisters, damn our brothers
And that my friend
Is how it’s going to end
In fire and smoke and uranium
We’d all have been better off if someone used their cranium
I can tell you how it's all going to end
And it won't be like Armageddon

Is it only
when a twisted sea of bones
in decaying concrete jungles
apear
on a barron horizon
glowing green
unnatral in the dark
do you see
