At My Pace

My dear you are so smart, you speak free and clear. It don't take long for me to understand nor get the picture.

We run all day but at our own pace. When I run I'm not trying to chase even if it seems that's the case.

Your light is bright and you soar beyond the masses. I only wanted you to see that my light has formed and took flight with minor scars and battle scratches.

With such wounds how can I be able keep up but then boom you just had to press the gas and move further up. It's tough it's tough but I enjoy you moving further up.

Been let down and hurt so many times, you have that power to love yourself for the both of us.

In my heart you'll remain even when it'll never be the same. A friend in me you have no more as a King. If you want anything I'm not to far away. But Sidelines, I'll never be left in that place.

Hey It’s Me

Hey, it’s me,
I’m dying to say something before I hit the grave,
I’m trying to spit this out before you walk away,
Lying in this casket with a new point of view,
Crying I’m sorry for everything that I put you through.

I was paranoid in paradise, paradoxically paralyzed,
Awestruck and even mesmerized
But I was too afraid of my own ghost,
And a host of other phantoms who can raise a toast,
And they’d say: here he lies,
But none of us is able to eulogize,
Whatever secrets this fucker kept,
Maybe that’s why he went away…

Hey, it’s me,
Can you hear my voice from inside this box?
Do you remember our late night talks?
All the things I aspired to be,
All the self depecrating and agony,
I got past the guilt and remorse,
Then fell into something much, much worse.
Now I’m searching for answers in the beyond,
So I’m sorry I won’t be able to respond.

Hey, it’s me,
Remember all the funny and wacky things I used to say,
Then the next minute my thoughts would stray,
But my mind was constantly traveling through time,
Wondering why I fell so far behind,
And when I came back to the present I understood,
I’ve always had it this good.

Hey, it’s me,
Don’t forget all those rhymes I used to write,
The way I used to describe my fight,
And while at times I may have been a little intense,
I know my words sometimes didn’t make sense.
But you know, it was me,
I was trying so hard to be what I wanted to be,
Attempting to be interesting and mysterious,
Even when gemini in me switched from playful to serious,
Know that I always cared a lot,
Through every waking moment in my thoughts,

So from inside this coffin I hope you can hear me,
Smile when you remember me.

Feeling Sober

I have already been two months sober,
But it still feels like that one October
Night when I was standing in the cold
And being all alone. It is like you fold
When you simply have no more cards
Left to play and all the sharp shards
Of glass keep digging deep into your
Skin. It sometimes takes that one door
To close and another one to be open
Before you truly begin to rope in
Your thoughts. You begin to realize
Everything in your vision and eyes
Are becoming clear again. You can
See where you are going. The man
And ghost within the mirror are gone.
You know there is a new day and dawn
That is always coming around the corner.
You should stop becoming the mourner
For the person you were before you died
To become reborn. It is when you tried
So hard to kill the demons within you
That we both came into this light. To
Say that you are now sober too should
feel like the rest of the world feels good
On someone else’s shoulders. Remember
For how we are today instead of the ember
And pain of yesterday. We have a legacy
And all the names to remember. No jealousy
That runs through our veins or having bad
Blood just because someone else’s sad
Life was slightly better than ours in the end.
We all have lives that find ways to bend.
