before i

i passed
large fields
of pastures,
the green
embraced
inside
fence lines,
and trees
lining the
roadside,
looking like
telephone
poles,
the string
weaved
in between
them, holding
everything
together,
and now,
the dirt
under my
feet becomes
asphalt,
the cows
and pastures
become
people and
buildings.
