For Tallen, Desolate Harpy {with Carpe_Noctem}
Monarch of the rainforest
King of treetop sky
Soaring over canopies
Majestic in your flight
Life held tight in balanced grip
Monkey, sloth or mouse
Watching upward, shadows cast
Airborne, deathly cloud
Burning kingdom, profits rage,
Harpy, hear me cry,
They took your home, destroyed your land,
Turned woodlot into fire
Who will rule their barren lands
When profit's their demise
What's left to burn when ash occludes
Shortsighted, misty eyes
King of treetop sky
Soaring over canopies
Majestic in your flight
Life held tight in balanced grip

the sidewalk,
suitcase in hand
with a pipe hanging
out of my mouth,
the drains pray
to gobble me
down,
i’m just a moth
craving the light
& warmth,
can’t shake off
this numb minding
cold,
