f**ked up & ready to die
Fifteen dollars to her name
Can’t survive, it’s all the same
In need of food for her kids
Drugs & booze the way she lives
No ambition to get a job
Unless it’s slobbing on someone’s knob
How much lower can you go
You’ll be remembered as a filthy ho
You must fight to live
You must fight to live
You must fight to live
Inside your fucked up selfish mind
Sleazy strip malls is where you hang
Beware the rats with long sharp fangs
Behind the store to get your fix
Fever ignored, getting real sick

I need you
And,
You need me
Without each other
We are two creatures exiled.

Angel Dust
Rats chewed the hands, lips and nose off a four month old baby in a fleabag apartment building across the street from me. The mother was on PCP. She had her head in the oven trying to kill herself. I asked her if she needed assistance. She said no. I helped her anyway.
People are so pathetic!

Good Night Little Ones
Good night little ones,
it's time to go to bed.
Hugs and kisses, with Mom and Dad
one, two, or three times it'll be.
A sleepy time story Daddy reads
as you fall asleep in the comfort,
of warm covers.
Dream that dream,
of everything that makes you happy.
Dream that dream,
of everything you want to be.
Little ones rest well,
know you are loved by parents and
God up above.

Within My Sight
They say eyes are the
windows of the soul
and for me it's fitting
since I have two
I've shared its
luminous spark
twice with my sons
Shared my breath
until they were
strong enough
to do it on their own
months later
in the middle of the night
Where the fear
was so bright I
couldn't open my eyes
until the first sound
of blood and cut
umbilical cords
And since then
they are always
Within My Sight
My oldest
so like his mother
the constant dreamer ...

Is that burning flesh I smell
Little boy left for hardly 10 minutes
The sitter had gone to the store for some cigarettes and soda
When she returned she saw the fire engines in front of the house
She saw the smoke & flames
She found out that the little boy she was babysitting had lit his little brother's crib on fire
The baby was burned to death
He used the matches she had left on the table
He had heard that the only child gets more attention from the parents
More love & extra dessert
He was only looking out for number one

Childling
There is a time in a child's life
when we realize
they are no longer a child
Wasn't I just in the delivery room
yesterday afternoon?
A beam of light
outlines a young man
no longer a little boy
and a hard realization
that change is coming
all too soon
In less than two years
he will be driving
in less than four
he will be graduating
We are destined
to ask ourselves
if we did the best we could
with the time we had
If we loved enough
if we guided in...

The Moscovitch Automobile
In the fifties, few people in Norway had cars
then, after a deal with the then, Soviet Union
we received thousands of small cheap cars
from Russia, which enabled, so was the idea
that the workers also could afford a car.
I had an uncle who worked for a brewer
bought one, but it was ugly, draughty, and basic
all cars imported had the same color gray
One can say it was Russia that brought
a cheap, mass-produced car to Norway
and not Germany.
In the interweaving years, we had a good ...

Child Protective Services
Old enuff to catch a bullet ( U.S. Army at age 18)
But not old enuff to catch a buzz ( gotta be 21)
Old enuff to go to jail
(not talkn juvie, 18 cept for special circumstances)
But not old enuff to vape and inhale
(21 again. are we playing blackjack?)
Old enuff to go to prison
(18 again. but special dispensations allow children young as 12 to be tried with adult-level penalties)
But not old enuff to make sexual decisions (guess you're only adult enuff if someone dies)
If you really wanna "protect children" ...

The Boys
The boys push the blind man down the escalator
The boys take the money out of the guitar player's hat
The boys tease the crippled man
The boys kick the junkie
The boys beat on anybody and anyone that looks different to them
The boys are well respected in their community
The boys then call the cops when their bikes are stolen...

Bits & Pieces
John Doe was the name given to the bits & pieces of a man who was murdered and scattered throughout Detroit in the summer of 1985. The first part of him to turn up was his bloody naked torso. It rolled down a conveyor belt at a paper recycling plant, much to the horror of Ader Titsoff. A few days later, a volunteer at a Detroit Church noticed flies buzzing around a trash bag. Inside was John's head. The rest of him was eventually discovered at a children's playground. One girl named Anita Bath discovered the grizzly remains one late summer morning. All that was left was a thigh bone, a...
