(23) My Brother (August 30th, 2023 @ 2:36am)
Nobody understands how much I love this little guy.
My brother’s the reason I’ll never commit suicide.
Never thought the both of us would get high.
Let alone together, it’s been one hell of a ride.
I want you to know, you are loved!
My brother’s name is Julio, truly beloved!
The love I carry for you rises higher than the sky above.
I hope you accept my apologies and cherish my eternal love.
This world’s full of hatred and misunderstandings.
Meanwhile we’re so high, we’re debating landing.
You helped me become more understanding. ...

Winter in Cascais
This is a cold day, and bleak too, like a fish left behind
on the grass verge when the anglers go home for lunch
Sport fishing doesn't mean you want to eat the prizes
She is having salmon today at the cafe on the first floor of our building,
I, when a farm boy in Norway, was served salmon or trout every day except Sundays
will settle for a slice of ham, boiled potatoes and salad
Olive oil is used here in Portugal, but I think food tastes better with butter.
So, said the great chef and entertainer who hung himself

Another Interpretation
Esau and Jacob were twin brothers, according to the scripture.
The account suggests that these two men did not have a good relationship.
We must have a realistic view of the situation to understand it.
Esau went to work in the field, and Jacob stayed home and cooked a meal.
When Esau went back home, he was exhausted and hungry.
Jacob could have offered his brother a free serving of the pottage.
A kind person would have done that for his or her sibling or even a stranger.
Esau had a weakness; he did not seriously consider spiritual matters.

Raphium Series~Brother
Little rebellion inside my soul
hoping to escape my troubles
Worrying the sky
his blue is tormented
Child of the day swims sideways
there is a cap on the air
I am grounded
So moving left to right
travel the winds
Finding the desert jubilation
and like a colt run free
expending energies too painful
Seeking sanctuary
immortal honesties
are too dreadful for me
Sympathy for the devil surely
understanding of the creator?...perhaps
Anger rushes through my veins ...

What She Had Done On The Last Day Of Summer
Xander saw Lindsay
splashing in the water and
smiling at her own
brother who was standing on
the beach and waiting for her.

Ghosts
So now that I'm "dead" will you say a few words to me? Or are we pretending that ghosts don't exist either?

two brothers
(opposition disposition)
“Together, [they] form a necessary paradox;
not a senseless contradiction.”―Criss Jami, Healology
one is a priest,
the other is a pest;
him, too, a beast.
his sibling does his best,
sending the light,
where brother casts a plight;
the one engaged,
the other man enraged.
one is a friend,
the other full of ire;
him, too, a fiend,
his sib the world’s desire.
one shifts the blame,
his brother takes the hurt;
one mends the lame,
the other rends the heart.

The 46
Siblings on the bus, a lively scene
With laughter, chatter and joyful beam.
Together as travel, side by side,
Miles apart, yet heart to heart tied.
As we look out through the window,
The world passes us by like a show,
The bustling streets, the people and cars.
Melodies of life float in like stars.
With laughter, chatter and joyful beam.
Together as travel, side by side,
Miles apart, yet heart to heart tied.
As we look out through the window,
The world passes us by like a show,
The bustling streets, the people and cars.

Brother
A figure standing next to me
A man of 6,6 tall
A quiet soul of whom I love
To him, I owe it all
He watched me grow
From none to now
And never let me fall
The odd one out
In a sea of liars
We grew up, hand in hand
And I’ll never forget
His genuine smile
On a pedestal, he stands.
To him, I thank
For who I am
And all that I could be
Because what is life
Without a soul
As loving, or as free,
As he.

Brother
I ate
Chicken heart,
While sitting
By my brother-in-law,
At a street vendor stall,
Half a world away;
We talk
As brothers,
Separated by
A mere barrier
Of common speech;
He knows much
Of my native tongue;
I know scant bits
Of his;
This worthy man
Is
My brother.

Sister & Me
Sister & Me
Crimson tressed child
Of the copper lamplight
trades first communion lily gown
For blue nurse evening shawl
With Red Cross and
Toy stethoscope
To hear the Jazz rhythm
Of my heart
But phonograph of Brubeck
Plays our song
For our pretend Union
On altar of girlhood tears
That bears the loneliness
I too feel
While lost in boyhood dreams
Of seagulls chasing the night away
On neighborhood stoops
Where Django strums from guitars
As dawn comes with slow insistence ...
