Let's meet at the beach
September sun, late summer still holding on
Days grow shorter, nights become long
Let's meet at the beach, we have free reign
Crowds have disappeared, less stress, less strain
A pleasant walk, you & I on the sand
Enjoying life's finer pleasures, please take my hand
The air is cooler, the ocean quite warm
Out in the distant sky, we see a brewing storm
Were not discouraged, we faced many storms throughout our run
We learn to trust more fully, and to us that's second to none

Sunset over the beach
I drove out to the beach
to watch the day
enter;
to watch the day
leave
The air around me
was still chilled,
the world quiet
save for the
haunting sound
of the ocean, alone.
The sand crunched under my
feet, and the dark sky
hinted that
yesterday’s promise
of tomorrow
was fulfilled.
I sat far enough from the
tide line to get a wet butt
but not close enough for
the waves to touch my toes.
The sky lightened
and as gently as

Beach Glass
Smooth as beach glass, blue and green
Your notes washed over me like a dream
Beer-bottle brown eyes, a voice rich as cream,
You were smooth as beach glass, baby.
Stretched on the sand just getting cooked
Melting like cheese in a toaster oven
A voice shook my heart, and when I looked
There you sat, just strummin’ and hummin’
Our smiles connected, you reached out your hand
The heart on your sleeve swept me under your spell
Though you slipped through my fingers like fine, cool sand
That week was a secret I’ll never tell

summer is here
it's horribly hot
so people are
going outside
release in the
sultry breeze
girls flaunting
their allure on
a boulevard of
dreams sipping
cocktails having
sex on the beach
suggestive skirts
colorful dresses
bahama bikinis
driving the guys
close to insanity
we could escape
the summer craze
Go for a swim in the
lake, lie in the shades

Sunrise Value
Twilight baffled the peevish clouds with pink
As they blew away from the fretful west
Where the sun was done with it's daily sink
Beyond Poseidon's submarine nest
And far above the tropical reaches
Of vastly laving syzygial tides
Kissing pink sand on Philippine beaches
Where antipodean mojo abides
Spending itself into the jet stream blue
Of arrant tropospheric kingdom come
Where old inspiration seeks to renew
With Aurora's harp and Apollo's strum,
Whose union and blessings never forsake
The worth of a freshly minted daybreak!
As they blew away from the fretful west
Where the sun was done with it's daily sink
Beyond Poseidon's submarine nest

sea that sleeps in the blue
the sea takes and the sea brings
the sea is a castle that crumbles into sand
the sea keeps every fleeting moment
and gives belly to the sailor who lies
the sea is never wrong
the sea never has plans anyway
the sea covers and disappears at the pier
the sea breaking on the beach comes in peace
sounds its deep waves like jazz
the sea is serene and knows the good it does for us

A Valet Moment In Time (Ft. Lauderdale, Florida)
We were arriving from Atlanta, Georgia where we spent the night partying until the Grand Rise of the sun, then on to Ft. Lauderdale, Miami Floridia, Orlando Florida, those Floridians sure know how to make a New Yorker Queen, and an Atlanta Native Diva feel at home, the love, the beaches, the cuisine, the handsome men...mmm.
I left my sacred and sweetest incantations, all over your beautiful Sunshine State.

Ocean Reef
Ocean Reef had mangroves
swampy low trees in the Florida Keys
Ocean Reef had horseflies the size of baby shoes
a lagoon with porpoises named Candy and Cesar
my friend David and I swam with
but then we had to get out
once a big blue bubble floated past me
Portuguese man o' war
Fortunate childhood
Fortunate near miss

for navigating the sizeable property
kids could drive them
once they turned 12
