Beach Glass

Smooth as beach glass, blue and green
Your notes washed over me like a dream
Beer-bottle brown eyes, a voice rich as cream,
You were smooth as beach glass, baby.

Stretched on the sand just getting cooked
Melting like cheese in a toaster oven
A voice shook my heart, and when I looked
There you sat, just strumminí and humminí

Our smiles connected, you reached out your hand
The heart on your sleeve swept me under your spell
Though you slipped through my fingers like fine, cool sand
That week was a secret Iíll never tell

I heard your song on the radio today
My heart flared hot like a rocket blast
Though I still taste your kiss on the ocean waves
I was just one of many from days long past

Smooth as beach glass, blue and green
Your notes washed over me like a dream
Beer-bottle brown eyes, a voice rich as cream,
You were smooth as beach glass, baby.
