Sea Breeze Cafe
In the tourist town of 10B, in the sea breeze cafe, I popped in for a bacon bap and a nice hot latte.
A short dumpy gremlin, whose name was Jolene, was being rude to the customers, tho she was quite pretty.
But only on the face, her greasy hair was tied back in a bun, I'm sure she just like being a b*tch and did it all for fun.
She should work at Karen's cafe, then she would be good at her job, instead of flobbing into people's cups of tea and acting like a yob.
With a screw face on and her arms folded up, she chucked the menu to the customers like...

Scanning
Mans' is to plant toes in sand,
unfurl fist from hand, hitch
to any wave that waves back
and hope it's foam soul
consists of nutritious bits and plans.
Wade and hope for wet walls of fish
spraying mist that turns
any dime or dollar ditched for wish to splashes tall and grand.
Off shore because you miss
being drenched in droplets
you once dropped off of
that insist on flowing along long
and glistening strands
to distant lands.
Hop on and hope you've not been tricked
by ship...

Love and Surfing
Sunrise and sunset.
I hurt myself over and over.
Get back on the board and ride.
I hate my own bitter heart.
I detest my wounded pride.
So I repeat the murder of my inner surfer.
Shoot her in the head.
She never fully dies.
Instead she kills me slowly with romantic cyanide.
Pulling pieces of me out with the high tide.
I am reanimated and brought back to life upon the foam.
To ride once again, so on the beach I roam.
Waves crashing are like lovers meeting.
Bringing seaweed to the...

Hey, Guy At the Coast
Hey older guy at the coast
near San Simeon
As you were watching molting elephant seals
throw sand on themselves with their flippers,
As you marveled at them propelling their multi-ton bodies,
across expanses of sand
As you listened to their blorpy,
bad plumbing sounds
amidst the primordial lull of the Pacific Ocean,
you heard another sound.
You heard my elderly mother
say she felt a bit dizzy
You saw her partner
hold her steady
You took in her daughter
rushing to her other side

To The Waters Of Atlantic City
Atlantic City, New Jersey
Beachfront
I stood in awe of the beautiful roaring ocean
The elements of sea salt of its purification when skin is dipped in sacred benediction the soul rejuvenated in its harmonic motion
In the midnight hours the moon dancing off the reflection of the water to welcome my blessed naked offering to Mother Nature becoming one with the universe
Knowing there is nothing mightier than when the tide and the shores

Sunset over the beach
I drove out to the beach
to watch the day
enter;
to watch the day
leave
The air around me
was still chilled,
the world quiet
save for the
haunting sound
of the ocean, alone.
The sand crunched under my
feet, and the dark sky
hinted that
yesterday’s promise
of tomorrow
was fulfilled.
I sat far enough from the
tide line to get a wet butt
but not close enough for
the waves to touch my toes.
The sky lightened
and as gently as

The Island Life
Deemed paradise by many
surrounded by way
beaches that go on for miles
not a locale many want to depart
A destination that required a wait
curtesy of the "gift" called Covid
kūlohelohe splendor in excess
and historical significant in the country's story
Warnings about the coconut lāʻau

didn't register
until learning about the coconut to the head fatalities

Just Watch---Calm and Balm in Oahu
Walking out to the backyard
one hundred feet from the sea wall
my brother's daily wakeup on Oahu
nature provides a calm to life
Me the naive mainlander
see a crab and wonder if it is live
the creatures still living are on the other side
making their way back to the water
Hear the waves crashing against the rocks
a shirtless dude
makes he way across the area
and offers a fish my brother in turns gives a coconut
The coconuts are in fact an experience
I am warned not to occupy space...

throws its warm gold
across upon into
my shirtless
back
as its all embracing

brands this long road
up ahead of me

as my shadow
precedes me

in other shadows
