With Empty Hearts

With empty hearts
we act like we love
the first person to ever
say those three words back,
even though you know
they're just lusting for your body.

With hollow souls
we pretend to care about
some kid dying of
starvation in some
third world country
while we eat our fast food.

With vacant eyes
we see our imperfections
and hypocrisy reveals itself
as we accuse others of
"disturbing the peace"
when there's a war in another country that you started.

And with insignificant words
you preach about your God
and claim that the other Gods
are false- falsely accusing the
false prophets of the world
for saying the same words you claim to be true.

So, with an empty heart,
I stand here to say
that I am ashamed of the human race.
We are all corrupt.
We are all rotten.
Myself included.
