People Person

I'm sure most of us know
the sensation of unrelenting anger.
Inconceivable hatred of situations
and specific people.
My hungover head packs boxes
with books, films and music.

Meanwhile, an insincere
absent minded shallow
pace of gudgeons
play 'pass the dutchie'
with my partner.

I shall attempt to remove them
from my conscious with the knowledge
that when 'soon' comes around
and they are underneath
the answer to the shallow equation
I will be the one sat back
smoking their drug of choice
not giving a shit
about the harshest
of their realities.
