She raises the house
hits, that last note
as the lights go down
and the curtains close
Hear the words
“encore”
erupt
Men dreaming, woman even more
"Monsieur," she says subtly to the
moustache in the front row, as she
moulds the final applause
Masterfully she demands ovation
once more
Every heart stops
Every sound ends
Eclipse lights, that theatre, the
evangelical angel sings again
erupting this, today’s performance
number four
Never a bad night
Not a sour hour
Naked emotions shown
nonchalant as the pay check comes
no-one will be told, a ligament in her
leg she tore
Amen
