Once in a Blue Moon
Last night
I begged the sea to wash me clean.
not so loud as the company would hear.
never even used my voice.
just gazed at the tide lapping against the pier.
wishing.
I begged the sea to wash me clean.
not so loud as the company would hear.
never even used my voice.
just gazed at the tide lapping against the pier.
wishing.

If we listen....we can hear...even in the slightest moments of calm or in a raging sea...the gift of enlightenment will appear....only we can choose to listen and grasp :)

You say so much with so few words, and very beautifully. There is something peaceful, but sad about asking the sea to wash you clean. Whatever it is you need washed away though, you are the only one who can give yourself relief.
Thank you always for your words.

you are far too kind...and fairly clued in by all accounts.
I'm sorry but I cannot let this go without saying something;
"you are the only one who can give yourself relief."
classic! :D

Nice.
There is not very many things more powerful or seemingly purer than the sea. Why not ask it to cleanse you? I relate.
You say an ocean full with just a dew drop. Such great talent.

It's always good to know that a connection or a relate-ion was made.
powerful, unforgiving, mesmerizing and countless other words that will probably never truly describe an ocean.
Thank you lots for your kind words

Re: Once in a Blue Moon
i'll say first, that it's "pier", the word you're looking for there, but now the good stuff.
that pretty piece of the poem, "I begged the sea to wash me clean" is so complete in itself... it gives and gives to the reader, the exact emotion you're feeling. showing, not telling. beautiful sentiment. happy to see you back [:

That's so true,
and with the added 'blue
atop the colored moon
the ocean can be extra
seductive
happy you stopped by man, cheers for your thoughts.

I love it when I can read a few short lines and feel satisfied that something has been sparked-hard to do but you did so brilliantly with this verse. Once a blue moon, anything is possible. I will say this, I have had many unanswered prayers in life but never an unanswered question- that was the enlightenment to tell me I was asking for the wrong things..Just let yourself happen and you may happen to find that yourself is both the problem and the solution...I wish you and yours love and peace..Be well bro
Great Poem,
Miki

I love being in your mind.
It's such a beautiful, evoking poem.
Blunt and short, yet intricate and so very elegantly said.

Ha! I actually truly believe that comment! But besides that, it is nice, I guess I mean I enjoy the way your mind works when you write things. Don't take me for the creeper (think of me more of a devoted stalker).
ps. just kidding!
Just a true fan of your writing.

I love how what starts out as 'begged the sea' works its way down in a steadily more doubtful voice, to simply 'just gazed'. It gives this feeling of that wish having some secretive place burrowed like a tiny light inside the narrator.

Re: Once in a Blue Moon
Dear CraicDealer, A very noble thought that few think of ... how to wash clean or remove all the blemishes from our soul or consciousness that we have put there in the millions of lives we have led in these material realms. Meditation on the inner light and sound of God as taught by the Great Sant Mat Masters is the remedy for this situation. This great write speaks a lot in just a few words ... Love and Peace ... Bruce

ah Bruce, noble it might be. though I'd not profess to be like that all the time hence the title. :)
I checked out your man Sant Mat Masters. he seems decent enough.
Thanks for the heads up Bruce.

Oh my, what a piece!
Lovely left, right and centre.
So, how did you beg without a sound, yet not wanting company(who is that?) to hear?
C-ryp-tic, do I like!
Good on you, C D.
Please pen more..... :-)
Cheers

Can hear some of your thoughts, mind now...better hush some of them über-crazy ideas....

But it seems so rude at times, so gotta force an 'engaged' look. You dig?
Thought so.

I just wanna nuzzle you now :)
Have you noticed your capitalization is not consistent? It's the only nit I have. I think you should either become wholly lower case with no punctuation, or capitalize the beginning of each complete thought.
This is so soft and lovely and intimate. Humans are so profane, yet so divine. The undulant cadence lends itself well to the ebb and flow of the sea, and the sea is very feminine...whether intentional or not I breathe this piece as both introspective and overtly sexual.
Pleased to be reading you in this environment again.

there's been a bit of a spike in drowning fatalities around the island over the past couple of weeks. There's some islands off the coast. Aran islands. Its where the famous Aran jumpers come from. big thick woollen sea jumpers. the patterns used to be unique to individual fishermen, it helped with identity
