POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
I'm not a poet. Poets can smell color and taste seasons. Poets can make vomit sound beautiful. I just write and hope it comes out well. :)
Death Sentence
I wrapped your noose
they fastened your cuffs
I squeezed your knot
they believed your crime
I pulled your rope
they denied your moans
I kicked your chair
they had your trial
you fought to breathe
they found you guilty
you breathed your last
they sentenced you life
they fastened your cuffs
I squeezed your knot
they believed your crime
I pulled your rope
they denied your moans
I kicked your chair
they had your trial
you fought to breathe
they found you guilty
you breathed your last
they sentenced you life

Dear Self...
dear 2 year old self:
don’t forget
this fear you feel
while monsters
rip off your innocence
remembering
will teach you
to guard yourself
and protect others
dear 6 year old self:
be a six year old
this will anger him
he will beat you
you will survive
the bruises will heal
the blood will stop
and you will learn
to stand again
dear 7 year old self:
tell mom he hurts you
nothing will change
until she catches him
she likes he depends on her ...

Over-Comer
the girl, she hides inside
dozes, but never sleeps
keeps one eye open
frozen and broken
her emotions
rarely spoken; much
the girl, she hides inside
won't dress her best
but conceals her appeal
beauty and desire
to heal the hurt
the girl, she hides inside
fucks, but never makes love
cause every time
she makes the climb
she see's his crime
and the slime he left behind
the girl, she hides inside
is innocent, but shamed
too young to oppose
while he unclothed; was
forced to pose as he
enclosed...

It's How I'm Your's
it's how
from the moment your mind
had kidnapped mine
and took me to a place
only Shakespeare wrote of
and how
you raised the dead language
my heart spoke with
and pronounced every word
with fluent precision
it's how
you are a poem penned
a peerless piece
only words of the soul
gained from lifetimes with you
and how
you're my favorite place
my great escape
like a backyard hammock
embraced and supported
it's how
our long conversations
fill the empty
and your soulful kisses
tell...

Unfolding
I wake dizzy in the eyelid of morning
where you have spent the night in orbit
around my dreams
like I am the sun and you are my world
my lashes flutter into early light
and you
are the smile I see
and we kiss
your exhale enters my inhale
and it's in that moment I remember
we can survive this way through anything
like the deepest ocean
or farthest galaxy
we rise with the birds
and sip our venti
white chocolate mocha's
and talk about the roots of our love
how we'd spent hours ...

My Enemy
my sweet slumber
where silk petal sheets
and peaceful promises
once played blissful lullaby's
now ceases her
silent serenity
and relinquishes her place
of powerful escape
my desired freedom
where once
a parallel universe
spun no sorrow
is now replaced with
despair packed pillows
of a swallowed past
they slither in
like Eve's serpent
and prosper off my fears
no force strong enough
to fight my lids from closing
like cell doors
they hold me...

Your Hugs
today I learned
I had never been hugged before
not the kind that melt you
like succulent chocolate
that fills your mouth
and sends tingles down your spine
or when the sun kisses
the last frost
and tickles the ground
for the first time in months
today I learned
I had never felt love's welcome
not the way that God
touches the sky
with blankets of color
before she sleeps
or the way a hot
towel snuggles
you after a cool
swim in the spring lake
today I learned
what...

Distant Lovers
he can move her
without touch
the way
the faults
move mountains
and lift her
without force
the way
the moon
lifts the seas
and without a single
taste
he craves her
the way
the night craves
the dawn
and though
they've never met
he knows her
the way
the body
knows the soul
without touch

the faults

My New Muse
Shakespearean mush fills my head
like regurgitated worm in a
baby birds mouth
gross you say,
yeah, so do I
or I used to
before you
now I'm happy
what the fuck do I do with that?
every noise makes a love song
screeching chalkboards
squealing brakes
whistling fools
all screaming
I love you, I love you, I love you
and I'm here, like
yeah, I love you too
you know, like
let me count the...

~S~M~K~ A Light In The Darkness
amongst the vast deafness
of wicked gloom
and vestures of evil hues
in the great beyond
there is a whirlpool of citrus amber swirls
entwined with wine berry brush strokes
and splashes of amethyst water colors
~that
is where you are
amongst the violent charcoal convolutions
of malicious torrents
and destructive ruins
in the everlasting storm
there are forests of emerald majesties
ripples of eternal liquid jade
and cascades of melted mother of pearl
~that

Don't Go, Come Back, Go Away
I anchor myself around your ankles
my face twisted like bloody yarn
you rip yourself away at the exit
desolate I sway cradled
lost at the sea I created
seconds take hours to pass
regretful hands cover your face
you stare at the frozen ground
as you imitate a birds return
like fall welcomes the winter
I blanket my heart around you
and turn yet another cheek
carefully you spread your eggshells
I take those familiar steps
and wait seconds for your depart
my face twisted like bloody yarn
you rip yourself away at the exit
desolate I sway cradled
lost at the sea I created
seconds take hours to pass
regretful hands cover your face
you stare at the frozen ground

Vanish
in the vastness of our lives
we were just a moment in time
like a shooting star with a fleeting twinkle
a drop of rain on a scalding pavement
or a flashing thought lost on the tongue
but in that perishing second
you were my eternity
we were just a moment in time
like a shooting star with a fleeting twinkle
a drop of rain on a scalding pavement
or a flashing thought lost on the tongue
but in that perishing second
you were my eternity
